Celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Provincial Party Committee (July 29, 1930 - July 29, 2025): Sending full faith, firmly stepping into the prosperous era

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - This July, the Party Committee and the people of all ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa province are looking forward to an extremely important event: the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Provincial Party Committee.

Historical turning point

95 years ago, on February 3, 1930, the Communist Party of Vietnam was founded. The birth of the Party had a profound, comprehensive and direct impact on the revolutionary movement in localities, including Thanh Hoa. In order to build a core force for the revolutionary movement, in the summer of 1930, comrade Nguyen Doan Chap was assigned to return to Thanh Hoa to promote the development of grassroots party organizations. After a process of careful preparation in all aspects, on June 25, 1930, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Doan Chap, Ham Ha Party Cell, Dong Tien Commune (former Dong Son District) - the first Party cell of Thanh Hoa Province was established with 3 Party members, comrade Le The Long was elected as Party Cell Secretary. The birth of Ham Ha Party Cell marked an important turning point, opening a new page in the history of the revolutionary movement in Thanh Hoa under the leadership of the Party.

Then, on July 10, 1930, the Phuc Loc Party cell in Thieu Tien commune (former Thieu Hoa district) was established with 4 party members, and comrade Vuong Xuan Cat was elected as the Party cell secretary. Immediately after that, on July 22, 1930, the Yen Truong Party cell in Tho Lap commune (former Tho Xuan district) was established with 7 party members, and comrade Le Van Sy was elected as the Party cell secretary.

After a period of ideological and organizational preparation, from 3 small "sparks" which were the Party cells: Ham Ha, Phuc Loc and Yen Truong, on July 29, 1930, the Thanh Hoa Communist Party was established at the house of comrade Le Van Sy. The Thanh Hoa Communist Party had 11 members, comrade Le The Long was appointed to hold the position of Provincial Party Secretary and was the first Provincial Party Secretary of Thanh Hoa. The birth and operation of the Thanh Hoa Communist Party was "a major event marking a major turning point of the communist movement in the province". Because from here, every ups and downs of the revolutionary movement in the province were closely linked to the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the revolutionary movement of the whole country under the leadership of the Party.

Achievement mark

Immediately after its establishment, the Provincial Party Committee quickly stabilized its organization, led the people of all ethnic groups in the province to rise up in an uprising to seize power, together with the whole country to make the "earth-shaking" August Revolution of 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and opening a new era: the era of independence and freedom for the nation.

During the two great resistance wars of the nation, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the army and people of Thanh Hoa enthusiastically took the lead in patriotic emulation movements. On the front lines, soldiers competed to kill enemies and make achievements; in the rear, people competed to increase production to eradicate hunger, illiteracy and foreign invaders, contributing to defeating all enemy plots and tricks of invasion, creating the Dien Bien Phu victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world" and the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country.

After the great victory in the spring of 1975, the Provincial Party Committee led the Thanh Hoa People and the whole country to enter a new revolutionary stage, restoring and developing the country after the war. In particular, implementing the renovation process (from 1986 to present), the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee led the People to carry out the cause of industrialization and modernization of the homeland and achieved very proud achievements.

Notably, in the socio-economic growth picture of the country, Thanh Hoa's GRDP scale in the 2020-2025 period reached 10.24%, ranking 4th in the country and 3rd in the group of 10 provinces and cities with the largest economic scale in the country (compared to before the merger of provinces and cities); GRDP per capita in 2025 is estimated at 3,750 USD, 1.7 times higher than in 2020. State budget revenue is among the 10 provinces and cities with the highest revenue in the country. Processing and manufacturing industry has an average annual growth of 15.3%, in which some products have the leading output in the country such as petrochemical refining, cement, iron and steel. New Rural Development maintains the leading group in the country (compared to before the arrangement and merger of provinces and cities)... With high and stable economic growth, Thanh Hoa's development has had, is having and will have a great spillover effect on the development of provinces in the region and the whole country, gradually affirming itself as a new growth pole in the North of the country as proposed in Resolution No. 58-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

Thanh Hoa today has achieved achievements that the province has never had before. These achievements did not come naturally but from the timely leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the flexible management of the government, and the determination to overcome difficulties of the business community and all classes of people.

Along with focusing on leading and directing socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security, the Provincial Party Committee has devoted a lot of time and effort to Party building, truly considering this a key task of the Party Committee. From 11 Party members at the time of its establishment, the Provincial Party Committee has grown steadily with 170 subordinate Party Committees (166 ward and commune Party Committees; 4 subordinate Party Committees), 1,135 grassroots Party organizations (394 grassroots Party Committees, 741 Party cells), and 242,478 Party members. Considered the "foundation" of the Party and the "core" of politics at the grassroots level, the Provincial Party Committee and Party Committees at all levels have "concentrated their efforts" to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations, meeting the requirements of leadership, direction, and organization of the implementation of political tasks. In particular, to undertake the leadership mission in the new period, the Provincial Party Committee regularly innovates, self-rectifies, improves its mettle and intelligence, is increasingly steadfast in political ideology; highly unified in will and action; clean in ethics and lifestyle; tight in organization and closely attached to the People, thereby constantly improving the Party's leadership, governing capacity and fighting strength.

The 95-year history of the establishment, construction and growth of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee is a heroic and extremely glorious history. Each revolutionary journey has passed, adding many invaluable lessons to be drawn, to serve as a fulcrum and foundation for the traditional golden history pages to be continued to be written in the future.
