Hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City contribute solutions on the journey " for the patient".
Dr. Nguyen Vu Quang, MSc, Specialist in General Surgery, Department of General Surgery, Nam Saigon International General Hospital, presented the topic "Early Results of Surgical Treatment of Complex Anal Fistulas".
This report evaluates the effectiveness of surgical techniques to optimize fistula tract drainage, preserving the sphincter, reducing complications, and improving anal aesthetics.
This method not only improves treatment outcomes but also helps patients restore their quality of life and self-confidence after a long period of being affected by the disease.

Initial results show a high cure rate and low complication rate, demonstrating the safety and effectiveness of the method in clinical practice.
Following up at the conference, Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, MSc, Specialist in General Surgery, Nam Saigon International General Hospital, shared information about the two-stage pull-through laparoscopic rectal resection method.
This is considered a breakthrough in the treatment of low rectal cancer, as it helps to preserve anal function to the maximum extent while reducing the risk of needing a permanent colostomy. This technique is particularly significant for younger patients.
According to Dr. Hoang, the two-stage pull-through low rectal resection endoscopic method is performed in two stages: removing the tumor and pulling the colon out of the anus, then connecting the colon to the anal canal, in order to ensure oncological requirements and minimize postoperative complications.

"When the surgery is successful, seeing them smile and say thank you is an incomparable feeling," shared Dr. Nguyen Vu Quang, MD, MSc.
