On the evening of December 6th, the Youth Cultural Center, the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City, and the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center organized the 2024 Valedictorian Recognition Program.
In 2024, the "Honoring Top Students" program selected and honored 88 top students. Among them, 43 were top students admitted to universities, colleges, and academies with outstanding academic achievements, all scoring 26 points or higher on entrance exams (24 points or higher for college students). Many achieved high results in student competitions and subject Olympiads at various levels; were exemplary students, "three good" students of their school and city, or actively participated in youth union activities. And 45 were top graduates with many outstanding achievements.
The top-scoring students received certificates of merit.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department of Ho Chi Minh City, praised the achievements of the top-scoring students. He noted that these achievements were not only the result of the persistent efforts and self-improvement of each student, but also the care and support of their families, schools, and society; and the constant attention and nurturing from the entire political system of the city.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong hopes that each top graduate will make suitable choices on their path to establishing themselves and their careers, continuing to cultivate virtue and talent, developing themselves in all aspects, and contributing their strength to building the country and the city.
This is the 11th consecutive year that the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center have organized the "Honoring Top Graduates" program. Over the past 11 years, the program has honored 869 outstanding new students and graduates. Among them, there are 427 top-scoring students upon admission and 442 top-scoring graduates (164 students with excellent grades, accounting for 37%).
