
Implementing Plan No. 13/KH-UBND dated January 8, 2025 of the Hanoi People's Committee and Plan No. 275/KH-SVHTT dated May 19, 2025 of the Department of Culture and Sports on implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports organizes the Festival "Typical Cultural Villages and Residential Groups" in 2025.
The preliminary round took place from August 5 to 8, 2025, attracting 123 typical villages and residential groups from 126 communes and wards in Hanoi. The festival attracted 3,604 extras, of which the youngest contestant was only 3 years old and the oldest was 78 years old. The units brought many rich forms of performance, from dry puppetry of Te Tieu ward, Bong drum dance of Trieu Khuc ward to intangible cultural heritage values such as the Giong Festival in Soc Son.
Through the performances, the units vividly conveyed the message of preserving cultural identity, spreading the spirit of solidarity and introducing good models and creative ways of building cultural life in the community. The simple but emotional performances contributed to portraying the image of elegant and civilized Hanoians, associated with patriotic emulation movements and the task of building a sustainable development capital.
Sticking to the general theme of the Festival: "Connecting the community, preserving identity, contributing to building a Cultural - Civilized - Modern Capital", the Organizing Committee selected 20 villages and residential groups with the highest total scores to enter the final round at the city level.
In the upcoming Final Round, 20 units will be divided into two morning and afternoon sessions, with start times at 7:30 and 13:30.
In this round, each village and residential group will go through three parts: Introduction with a video clip presentation introducing the locality, achievements of the movement and participating members. Art performances showing talent, conveying the message of preserving cultural values, praising the homeland, country and the spirit of community solidarity.
In the situation handling section, representatives of each unit drew lots and answered questions from the judges, focusing on skills in organizing and implementing cultural movements at the grassroots level.
The jury will award 2 First Prizes (1 village, 1 residential group), 4 Second Prizes, 6 Third Prizes and 8 Encouragement Prizes. In addition, there are 5 subsidiary prizes such as: Impressive stage program, Creative achievement report, Youngest member, oldest member, and Unit with the largest number of participating members.
In addition, 10 communes and wards with outstanding achievements in organizing grassroots festivals and participating in city-level festivals will also be commended and rewarded.
The 2025 Festival of “Typical Cultural Villages and Residential Groups” in Hanoi is not only a big festival for the community of the capital but also a meaningful activity, contributing to spreading the movement of “All people unite to build a cultural life”. The event creates a driving force to promote the building of a healthy, civilized, and humane cultural environment, affirming the important role of culture in social development.
