City leaders attend the National Unity Day celebration in Gia Lam.

Kinhtedothi - On the afternoon of November 16th, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha attended the National Unity Day celebration of the Ngoc Dong, Le Xa, Thuan Ton, and Khoan Te residential areas in Da Ton commune, Gia Lam district. Also present were representatives from the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of Gia Lam district.

Reporting on the results of the "All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign in the residential area in 2024, the Head of Thuan Ton village, Do Thi Chanh, stated: The Ngoc Dong, Le Xa, Thuan Ton, and Khoan Te residential area has 3,208 households with 11,482 inhabitants, including 368 Party members. Implementing the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement in conjunction with the "All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign, and contributing to Da Ton commune's completion of the model new rural commune criteria, the villages have achieved outstanding results.

The health insurance coverage rate reached 95.7%; the rate of households recognized as culturally exemplary families exceeded 96%; 4 villages have been recognized as culturally exemplary villages for many consecutive years. All 4 villages have only 10 near-poor households (0.18%); the average per capita income in the area reached 82.24 million VND/person/year; Da Ton commune strives to eliminate near-poor households by the end of 2024. The implementation of civilized funeral practices in residential areas reached 96.42%.

Families receiving government assistance, war veterans, near-poor households, and those in difficult circumstances are always given careful attention and care. During the Lunar New Year, War Invalids and Martyrs Day, and the "For the Poor" campaign month, villages, organizations, and associations donated over 200 gift packages totaling over 100 million VND; and, in coordination with the Red Cross, provided assistance to 21 humanitarian cases with a total monthly support of 86.5 million VND.

The people in the villages actively participated in supporting various funds: 91.03 million VND for gratitude and remembrance, 77.6 million VND for the poor, and 99.337 million VND for Vietnam's seas and islands, all exceeding the targets. In particular, following the recent Typhoon No. 3 which caused significant damage to lives and property, in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the entire commune mobilized support for flood victims totaling 356.55 million VND along with many other goods and supplies.

In 2024, Da Ton commune was selected to build a model new rural commune. Collectives and individuals in the residential areas registered to implement 21 successful community mobilization models with a total value of over 2 billion VND in money and labor days...

At the Great Unity Day celebration, the villages presented 65 gifts to families in difficult circumstances; and awarded 36 collectives and individuals for their achievements in the campaign.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha acknowledged and praised the achievements of the residential area of Da Ton commune, Gia Lam district, in the past period. She also urged officials and people of the residential area of Khoan Te, Ngoc Dong, Le Xa, and Thuan Ton villages in Da Ton commune to continue strengthening national unity, working together to build a more developed residential area and Da Ton commune; preserving and promoting traditional cultural values; and effectively implementing the campaigns "All people unite to build a civilized city" and "Building elegant and civilized Hanoi people".

The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee requested that the Party Committee, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi, and political and social organizations at all levels, including Gia Lam district and Da Ton commune, continue to pay attention to disseminating information and mobilizing cadres, Party members, and the people to support the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; to encourage the people to participate in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, and to promote democracy to successfully implement the political tasks set forth; and to continue to achieve even more outstanding achievements, contributing to the comprehensive development of Da Ton commune, Gia Lam district, and the Capital city.

At the event, 20 exemplary families received gifts from the Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; the Gia Lam District People's Committee presented gifts to 10 disadvantaged families in the commune; the Da Ton Commune People's Committee donated 10 bicycles to students who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies, and 20 gift packages to disadvantaged households; and 5 collectives were commended for successfully completing their tasks.
