On September 18th, according to information from Shing Mark University Medical Center ( Dong Nai ), doctors there performed laparoscopic gallbladder surgery on a 28-year-old patient.
Fifty gallstones were removed from the gallbladder of a young patient via endoscopy.
This patient, Mr. D.AN (residing in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), came to the hospital for examination with symptoms of epigastric pain, around the navel.
After thorough screening and accurate diagnosis, doctors surgically removed more than 50 gallstones from the patient's gallbladder.
According to doctors, the incidence of gallstones is increasing among younger people due to various lifestyle and dietary factors. Unbalanced diets, especially the consumption of excessive amounts of fat and cholesterol, play a significant role in gallstone formation.
In addition, genetic factors and metabolic disorders can also lead to gallstones in young people. These disorders increase cholesterol levels in bile, while a diet lacking in fiber and green vegetables also increases the risk. The use of oral contraceptives has also been noted to increase the risk of gallstones in young women.
