Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation meets with the management unit of athlete Yen Nhi

This working session is scheduled to take place tomorrow (October 15), between VBSF and the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang city. This is the management unit of female billiard player Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi.

VBSF said they asked the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang to provide more information about statements on social media related to Yen Nhi's participation in the Women's 3-Cushion Carom World Championship (World Championship Ladies), in Blois (France) from September 10 to September 12.

VBSF expressed that the working session between the two sides tomorrow will help the parties have official information to provide to the press, avoiding affecting the reputation and operations of VBSF in particular and the sports industry in general.

According to the Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation, they only request to officially work with the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang . As for whether athlete Yen Nhi will attend this working session or not, it will be decided by the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang.

The reason why the incident became so noisy was because after winning a bronze medal at the 3-cushion carom billiards championship in France during the above mentioned period, Yen Nhi went on social media and complained that she and her teammate Phung Kien Tuong had paid for the trip themselves (about 55 million VND/person), but did not receive support from VBSF.

Afterwards, responding to Dan Tri reporter, a VBSF official confirmed that before Yen Nhi participated in the World Championship Ladies, the parties had agreed that the tournament expenses of the athletes would be arranged by the governing body and the athletes themselves. Therefore, the VBSF side was very surprised when after the tournament, Yen Nhi talked about the funding issue.

At the same time, VBSF also revealed that even when Tran Quyet Chien, Bao Phuong Vinh or any other athlete participates in international tournaments, VBSF usually does not pay for the travel expenses, because the organization itself does not have enough funds to do so. Therefore, Yen Nhi's incident is no exception.
