The bright spots in the economy stem from three pillars.

Following the merger of administrative units including Phuoc The commune, Phu Lac commune, Binh Thanh commune, and Lien Huong town, the new Lien Huong commune was formed with a natural area of ​​128.23 km² and a population of 70,737 people. Its large area, dense population, and diverse natural, economic, and socio-cultural conditions create a favorable foundation for comprehensive development in various fields: marine economy, agriculture , trade and services, and coastal tourism.

Besides National Highway 1A running through the area, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, officially opened in mid-2023, has created breakthrough opportunities for the local tourism industry. Convenient transportation connections help Lien Huong commune leverage its advantages in diverse tourism types such as beach, island, eco-tourism, community-based, and spiritual tourism. The locality boasts many outstanding destinations: Co Thach Beach, famous for its pristine beauty and unique seven-colored rock formations like gems in the ocean; the ancient and sacred Co Thach Pagoda, a highlight for spiritual tourism development; and the romantic Cu Lao Cau Island, bearing the distinctive geological and geomorphological features of the South Central coastal region… Leveraging these advantages, local leaders have been actively promoting tourism through communication and advertising, while also developing new products and types of tourism such as: eco-tourism, experiencing harmonious living with nature, and educating people about environmental protection at the Hon Cau Marine Reserve; The tourism model linked to agricultural products in the vineyards and apple orchards of Phuoc The enriches the experience for tourists, while also contributing to job creation, increased income, and improved living standards for local people.

We are researching the development of the night-time economy linked to ecotourism, resort tourism, and beach tourism in the Binh Thanh tourist area; building a chain of interconnected tours and routes; and simultaneously developing solutions to preserve and promote scenic spots and historical and cultural relics in the area.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Sa, Chairman of the Lien Huong Commune People's Committee, said that in the coming time, the locality will continue to coordinate with relevant provincial agencies to review and finalize the tourism development plan, creating conditions to attract businesses and investors with financial capacity and dedication to participate in developing modern and attractive tourism and service projects. The locality will also focus on effectively utilizing the potential of destinations, gradually building Lien Huong into an attractive destination on the province's tourism map.

Excitement builds before the big festival.

Commercial infrastructure in the commune continues to receive attention with many projects. Lien Huong Market, Phuoc The Market, and Binh Thanh Market have been upgraded and repaired to ensure they meet the shopping and consumption needs of the people. In addition, modern business models such as Bach Hoa Xanh supermarkets and convenience stores are increasingly developing, diversifying choices for consumers. Along the Lien Huong - Binh Thanh road, National Highway 1A, and the inner city area, commercial and service activities are vibrant with the increasing number of businesses, restaurants, hotels, and services catering to tourism and daily life, contributing to economic growth and improving the quality of life.

Simultaneously, the marine economy – a traditional strength of the locality – continues to be effectively maintained and developed. The entire commune currently has 650 boats and vessels engaged in fishing and aquaculture; annual seafood production consistently meets and exceeds set targets. Fishery resource protection efforts have been strengthened; measures against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing have been implemented decisively, achieving many positive results. Monitoring of high-risk fishing vessels is carried out regularly and rigorously. To date, the commune has not recorded any cases of fishing vessels violating regulations by fishing in foreign waters. Policies and initiatives supporting the development of the marine economy, especially in the fisheries sector, have been implemented promptly and correctly, contributing to maintaining the sustainable development of this key industry in the commune in the new phase.

To help Lien Huong develop rapidly and sustainably.

With its new status after the merger, Lien Huong commune is facing many opportunities for rapid and sustainable development. This is a "golden time" for the locality to maximize the support policies from the central and provincial governments regarding infrastructure investment, rural development, digital transformation, and administrative reform. The potential of its land, abundant labor resources, and the diligent and creative traditions of its people are important foundations for developing high-tech agriculture, aquaculture, small-scale industries, and the marine economy. The stability of the political system and the consensus among the people create an important premise for building national unity, effectively implementing socio-economic development programs, and maintaining national defense and security.

To realize the goal of rapid and sustainable development, Lien Huong commune has identified six key tasks and three breakthroughs. Mr. Nguyen Truong Sa emphasized: “The first breakthrough focuses on people, concentrating on evaluating, arranging, and deploying cadres to meet the requirements of the new situation. The second breakthrough is to strongly develop key sectors: trade, services, tourism, and marine economy. The third breakthrough is innovation, application of science and technology, and improving the quality of administrative reform, creating a favorable environment to attract investment and promote strong socio-economic development in the locality in the coming time.”

The Party Congress of Lien Huong Commune for the 2025-2030 term is a particularly significant milestone, being the first congress after the merger, setting out a vision, goals, and comprehensive development solutions for the new period. The commune's Party Committee has set the following objectives: Building a clean and strong Party Committee and political system; enhancing the effectiveness of state management; promoting administrative reform and digital transformation; and effectively exploiting potential and advantages to develop trade, services, tourism, marine economy, and high-value-added agriculture.
