Continuously arrest and handle violations in Son La border area

On December 5, the Border Guard of Son La province said that from December 3-4, the Professional Force of the Provincial Border Guard had consecutively discovered and arrested 3 cases with 7 subjects violating the law in the border area.

At 6:40 p.m. on December 4, at Cat village, Muong Hung commune, Son La province, the Working Group of the Professional Department, Son La Provincial Border Guard, in coordination with the Northern Drug and Crime Prevention Task Force, Muong Cai Border Guard Station, discovered and caught red-handed a subject illegally buying and selling drugs.

The subjects discovered and arrested were Vang A Cho, born in 1980, residing in Keo Co village and Lo Van Chieu, born in 1990, residing in Hong Dom village, both in Muong Hung commune, Son La province. The seized evidence included 400 synthetic drug pills, 1 car and 3 million VND.

Expanding the investigation, Muong Cai Border Guard Station issued an emergency detention order for Vi Van En, born in 1976, residing in Chieng Cang village, Chieng Khoong commune, Son La, for his involvement in the above case.

Seized exhibits related to illegal transportation of goods across the border outside the border gate area.

Previously, at 5:20 p.m. on December 3, at Lao Kho 1 village, Phieng Khoai commune, Son La province, Chieng On Border Guard Station, Son La Provincial Border Guard discovered and arrested 2 subjects for illegally transporting goods across the border outside the border gate area, but not to the extent of criminal prosecution.

The two arrested subjects include Le Van Nhuong, born in 1989, residing in Hang Mon 2 village and Trang Lao Lang, born in 1983, residing in Keo Muong village, both in Phieng Khoai commune, Son La province.

Then, at 6 p.m. on December 3, at Keo Muong village, Phieng Khoai commune, Son La province, Chieng On Border Guard Station discovered two cases of crossing the national border without completing exit and entry procedures according to the law and handled them in accordance with regulations.

The above cases are part of the implementation of the peak plan to fight against drug crimes and human trafficking; smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the border areas and border gates of Son La province before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2026.

Currently, the Professional Force and Border Guard stations of the Son La Provincial Border Guard are investigating and handling the cases according to their authority.
