Overview of key infrastructure projects
Last week, many important transport infrastructure projects across the country made new progress. Notably, proposals for the construction of Can Gio Bridge and the sea route connecting Can Gio - Vung Tau, the identification of investors for the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway, and the progress of implementing other expressways and urban railways.
Proposed plan to build Can Gio bridge over 13,000 billion VND
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has submitted to the City People's Committee a pre-feasibility study report on the Can Gio Bridge project under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The project is proposed to cross the Soai Rap River, connecting Nha Be District with Can Gio District.

The bridge has a total estimated length of 6.3 km , including a main bridge of nearly 3 km and more than 3.3 km of approach roads. The design scale includes 6 lanes (4 motor lanes, 2 mixed lanes), designed speed of 80 km/h. The total estimated investment is more than 13,000 billion VND under the BT contract, expected to start construction in 2027.
Can Gio - Vung Tau sea route plan
According to the proposal of Vingroup Corporation, the sea-crossing road project connecting Can Gio (HCMC) and Vung Tau is proposed to be invested in the form of PPP, BT contract. The route has its starting point at Bien Dong 2 road in the Can Gio sea-encroaching urban area and its end point connecting with 30/4 road in Vung Tau. The total preliminary investment is about 104,410 billion VND . The investor proposed to start construction in 2026 and complete after 3 years.

Son Hai Group invests in Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway
The Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway Project has officially selected the investor, Son Hai Group Company Limited. The project is 66 km long with a total investment of 14,475 billion VND . The expected construction period is 25 months, scheduled to be completed on December 31, 2027. The groundbreaking ceremony is expected to take place on December 19 at the intersection with DT 721 road, Da Huoai commune.

Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway is behind schedule due to site clearance.
The Vingroup - Techtra joint venture, the investor of component project 1 of the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway, said that it has not yet been handed over a clean site for construction. The initial plan was to hand over 30% of the site by the end of September 2025 and 70% by the end of 2025. The local government informed that it will approve the first phase of site clearance for the first 6 km section of the route in December 2025.

More than half a billion USD to build Hoa Lu - Nam Dinh axis road
The project of the key road for socio-economic development of Ninh Binh province (Hoa Lu - Nam Dinh section) has been approved with a total length of 39 km . The route passes through many wards and communes of the localities of Ý Yên, Nam Định, Mỹ Lộc, Tây Hoa Lư. The total investment of the project is 13,850 billion VND . The 2026 - 2028 period will focus on construction and is expected to be put into operation from 2029.

Other infrastructure projects
- Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station: TBM1 excavator has completed drilling through the first four underground stations of metro line No. 3, Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station section. The line has a total length of 12.5 km, including eight elevated stations and four underground stations.
- Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway Connection Road: The road project from Le Duan - Truong Chinh intersection to the expressway interchange in Lam Dong has a length of 12 km, with a total investment of 4,712 billion VND. It is expected to start construction in 2026 and be completed in 5 years.
- Hanoi Planning: The Prime Minister requested Hanoi City to review and adjust the Capital's Master Plan towards a multi-center, multi-polar direction, and at the same time plan a multi-modal urban transport network.
