A new study was presented at the annual meeting of the American Nutrition Association. According to CNA, a study based on surveys of more than 47,000 nurses over several decades found a correlation between caffeine in the coffee that women (aged 45 to 60) regularly drink and the ability to slow down the aging process.

Coffee may offer several long-term benefits for the aging process.

The results showed that those who consumed the most caffeine had stronger anti-aging properties – 13% higher than the group who consumed the least caffeine.
When conducting research on mice, scientists found that caffeine can improve memory and protect brain cells from damage. Similar studies on humans have also found a link between regular coffee consumption (not decaffeinated coffee) and a reduced risk of Parkinson's disease.
Although coffee is good for your health, you shouldn't overindulge in it.
According to Dr. Sara Mahdavi, a nutritional science expert at the University of Toronto (Canada) and the lead researcher in the aforementioned study, both regular and decaffeinated coffee contain hundreds of chemical compounds, including many that can reduce inflammation and prevent cell damage.
However, this scientist also warns that while drinking coffee can be beneficial for slowing down the aging process, it should not be consumed excessively. Abusing caffeinated beverages will diminish their health benefits, especially when sugar or saturated fats are frequently added to them.
According to experts, it's best to drink a maximum of 3 cups of coffee per day, and the less sweet the better.
