Currently, Thanh Cong Ethnic Boarding Secondary School has 8 classes with 214 students. Of these, 10 students have disabilities; 4 students are orphans; 150 students are from poor households, 53 students are from near-poor households, and 213 students have permanent residence in communes with particularly difficult conditions.
The school's facilities, invested in and built by the State and the education sector since 2001, have deteriorated in some areas, including student restrooms, dormitories, and classrooms; and there is a lack of modern teaching equipment and supplies.
Following Typhoon Yagi , the school suffered significant damage, particularly to the boarding school's kitchen, which deteriorated severely. The floor subsided, making it unsafe for cooking meals for students. In addition, some kitchen facilities had their roofs blown off, walls cracked, and many students' belongings were damaged.
