In an interview with Movistar on October 15, Mbappe had the opportunity to reminisce about his time at PSG, especially when he played with Lionel Messi (from 2021-2023).
"When we talk about players who have made history, Messi's name must definitely be mentioned. But he is a very normal person in the dressing room. People will label you when you are famous, but Messi remains humble and respectful to everyone," Mbappe said.
Mbappe admits he has learned a lot from Messi during their two seasons together at PSG. The Real Madrid striker also feels lucky to have played with Messi.
"As a player, Lionel Messi is really unique. When you have a player like Messi in the team, you have to be close and watch his every move. Messi has helped me a lot in understanding the game" - Mbappe admitted.
The French striker continued: "It's a great fortune to play with Messi. I never thought it would happen. I thought he would spend his entire career at Barcelona, while my dream was to play for Real Madrid. So being able to be with him is a golden opportunity that I will never forget."
Mbappe is known to have been a fan of Ronaldo since he was a child. Mbappe rarely makes public statements praising Messi - who is considered Ronaldo's rival.
In two seasons playing together at PSG, Messi and Mbappe have scored 34 goals together in 67 games, averaging a goal every 157 minutes of playing together.
Interestingly, despite only playing together for two seasons, Messi is the player who has had the second most influence on Mbappe's goals throughout his career.
