In 2023, software giant Microsoft unexpectedly stopped producing PC accessories, instead focusing its investment on the Surface brand.
Now, thanks to a partnership with manufacturer Incase, Microsoft's accessories and peripherals are poised to return to the market soon.
On January 18, 2024, Onward Brands, owner of the Incase, Incipio, Griffin, and Survivor brands, signed an agreement with Microsoft, under which Microsoft will resume production of the entire line of PCs previously discontinued under the Incase sub-brand.
Additionally, the agreement also includes accessories and peripherals developed by Microsoft, but which were previously put into production.
Charlie Tebele, CEO of Onward Brands, stated: “The products will be identical, but instead of saying Microsoft, they will say ‘Incase, designed by Microsoft’.”
Incase products have been on the market for a long time. Many accessories for smartphones and laptops are sold under this brand.
Currently, 23 Microsoft products will be added to the company's product portfolio and will appear on the market in Q2 2024.
Charlie Tebele also stated that Microsoft retains ownership of its products and may renew or revoke the license for Incase in the future.
