New flight route opened: Ho Chi Minh City - Dien Bien - Hanoi

Vietnam Airlines Corporation has just issued a document announcing the opening of a new flight route Ho Chi Minh City - Dien Bien - Hanoi.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City - Dien Bien - Hanoi route includes 2 routes: Ho Chi Minh City - Dien Bien (from 9:35 in Ho Chi Minh City) and Dien Bien - Hanoi (from 12:30 in Dien Bien) with a frequency of 2 flights/week on Mondays and Wednesdays every week, starting from December 24, 2025.

This is the result based on the working session between Vietnam Airlines Corporation and Dien Bien province on November 7, 2025. This is an important event for Dien Bien province to strengthen regional connectivity, attract tourism, and maximize the potential of Dien Bien Airport after 2 years of upgrading. Currently, Vietnam Airlines is the only airline operating the Hanoi - Dien Bien route and vice versa at Dien Bien Airport.

Vietnam Airlines Corporation also requested Dien Bien province to communicate to promote and advance the exploitation plan; provide maximum support in terms of policies and mechanisms; infrastructure, premises as well as ensure fuel supply to serve the stable exploitation of the Ho Chi Minh City - Dien Bien - Hanoi route, contributing to the economic and social growth in the locality; at the same time, create conditions for Vietnam Airlines Corporation to ensure effective exploitation of flights.
