Representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union spoke at the rally.

Speaking at the ceremony, the representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union emphasized: Climate change is becoming more and more complex, leading to many consequences for life and production. In particular, women are the most heavily affected group, and at the same time, they are also an important contributor to environmental protection activities and natural disaster response. In recent years, the Vietnam Women's Union has coordinated with ministries, branches, localities and international organizations to implement many programs to raise awareness and mobilize members to implement climate change adaptation measures, including projects sponsored by UN Women.

Representative of the Department of Agriculture and Environment spoke at the rally.

In recent years, Lao Cai has been one of the localities heavily affected by natural disasters, especially flash floods, heavy rains and landslides. In response to this reality, the Provincial Women's Union has proactively coordinated with sectors and localities to promote propaganda and guide members to participate in environmental protection activities. In particular, the movement "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean", the new rural construction program, models of waste classification, collection, recycling, anti-plastic waste... have been widely deployed, contributing to raising community awareness and building a safer living environment.

Many models of Lao Cai women are highly appreciated for their practicality and sustainable effectiveness. Typically, the model of "Collecting waste in livestock farming" of Mong ethnic women in Thai Giang Pho both reduces pollution and increases income for people; the model of "Women's groups collecting, classifying and treating plastic waste"; the model of "Bags and tanks for storing household waste" in residential areas; "Tanks for storing used pesticide bags and packages" placed along roadsides and rice fields to help limit pollution of water sources and production environments... and many recycling initiatives, such as: using old wheels as flower beds, reusing glass bottles and plastic bottles as green areas, have also received strong support from members.
