Mo Muong - Intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection

The management of relics in the area faces many difficulties. The restoration, renovation and embellishment of some relics have not been implemented in accordance with regulations on investment and state management in the sector.

"Soon complete the task of building the dossier of Mo Muong Cultural Heritage to submit to the Prime Minister to propose UNESCO to include it in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of urgent protection" - that is the direction of Deputy Secretary of Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee Bui Duc Hinh at the working session with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh on August 29.

Also according to Mr. Bui Duc Hinh, in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh will continue to implement the Project "Preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Muong ethnic group and Hoa Binh culture in the period of 2023-2030 in the province."

The sectors coordinate to consider and resolve, and allocate resources for the Culture sector to carry out a number of important tasks on preserving cultural heritages of Hoa Binh province.

At the meeting, the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province said that in the first 9 months of 2024, the Department proactively and actively advised the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province to issue Programs, Projects and Plans to concretize and effectively implement the political tasks of the sector.

Tourism promotion and advertising activities organized by the Department are always associated with preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, actively contributing to economic restructuring, creating jobs, increasing budget revenue and initially achieving the basic criteria to become an important economic sector of the province.

Tourism activities have improved a lot, it is estimated that in the first 8 months of 2024, the whole province will welcome over 3 million tourists. According to Ms. Quach Thi Kieu, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh, currently the resources allocated to the province's cultural sector are still limited.
