Turkish authorities announced on September 4th that several Google services, including YouTube, had been temporarily suspended in Turkey and several other European countries such as Greece and Germany.
According to Türkiye's internet censorship agency, the outage began around 10:00 local time (2:00 PM Vietnam time). The Downdetector website reported that most services were restored about two hours later.
Turkish Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Omer Fatih Sayan said the areas affected by the incident include Turkey, much of Southeast Europe, and some locations in Ukraine, Russia, and Western Europe.
According to Sayan, Turkish authorities have requested Google to provide a technical report regarding this incident.
Meanwhile, many users reported experiencing connection disruptions in Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Romania, including problems accessing websites and YouTube.
In Germany, the internet outage tracking website (allestoerungen.de) reported that Google's access disruptions increased from around 9:00 local time (14:00 Vietnam time).
Google has not yet commented on this information.
