On the morning of October 23, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City Truong Canh Tuyen and the city's departments and branches had a working session with Hoang Giang Vietnam Investment Group (Hoang Gia Group) on the proposal to build a golf course in the city.
According to the leader of the Royal Group, Can Tho is a centrally-governed city in the Mekong Delta, playing the role of an economic , cultural, educational center and an important traffic hub connecting the provinces in the region with Ho Chi Minh City. However, the golf course complex combined with the ecological urban area does not yet exist, so this is the attraction for the Group to want to invest in Can Tho City.
Locations where Hoang Gia Group proposed to invest in the golf course project are in Truong Xuan commune (Thoi Lai district, old Can Tho city) and Tan Phuoc Hung commune (Phung Hiep district, old Hau Giang province).

Accordingly, the Truong Xuan commune golf course project has a scale of 574 hectares, of which the golf course construction area is more than 163 hectares, the remaining area is for the investor to build a complex urban area, trade and services.
Truong Xuan Golf Course Project is located along the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway; within a radius of 30km, the project connects to Co Do center, Can Tho International Airport and VSIP industrial park.
Tan Phuoc Hung Commune Golf Course Project has an area of 220 hectares, of which the golf course construction area is 120 hectares, the remaining area is for the investor to build a complex, trade and service area.

The proposed project location is located near National Highway 1A from Can Tho, 8.3km from Nga Bay and nearly 38km from Can Tho city center.
Currently, the two proposed locations for golf course investment are in line with the Prime Minister's planning for Can Tho City in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. According to the leader of the Royal Group, the project aims at an ecological Golf urban area, fully equipped with high-class facilities and contributing to the sustainable development of the area. In the residential area, the investor builds high-rise buildings, shophouses, villas; public functional clusters, including: commercial and service areas, walking streets, green parks, etc.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Nhat - Chairman of the Board of Members, General Director of Vietnam Royal Investment Group Joint Stock Company said that the investment project of the golf course complex combined with the ecological urban area - commercial services aims to form a complex of resort, sports and modern urban space, contributing to the development of the local economy - society in a green, sustainable and international-class direction.
According to the investor, when the project comes into operation, it will meet the needs of residents and tourists, create a healthy, modern living environment, in harmony between nature and urban amenities; create jobs, improve people's lives and form a new urban face for the locality; and at the same time contribute to increasing local revenue.

Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen highly appreciated the project; especially when the city does not have any golf courses. Meanwhile, according to the plan, the city has 4 golf courses. Moreover, Can Tho City is the center of the region, one of the growth poles of the country. Therefore, currently and in the future, there are many large international corporations coming to invest, but the lack of complexes, ecological urban areas, and golf courses has not met the entertainment and sports needs of large investors.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City assigned departments and branches to coordinate with the Royal Investment Group to continue researching and implementing the next steps, especially the Group's proposal to change the purpose of using rice land (in the proposed area of the golf course project) to meet the conditions for requesting investment policy according to the regulations.
