A corporation has proposed investing in two golf courses in Can Tho City.

7(3).jpg — Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Truong Canh Tuyen, held a meeting with the Vietnam Royal Investment Group regarding their proposed investment plan for a golf course complex combined with an ecological urban area.

On the morning of October 23rd, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Truong Canh Tuyen, along with city departments and agencies, held a working session with Hoang Giang Vietnam Investment Group (Hoang Gia Group) regarding their proposal to build a golf course in the city.

According to the leaders of Hoang Gia Group, Can Tho is a centrally-governed city in the Mekong Delta region, playing a central role in the economy , culture, education, and serving as an important transportation hub connecting the provinces in the region with Ho Chi Minh City. However, a golf course complex combined with an ecological urban area does not yet exist, making this an attractive investment opportunity for the Group in Can Tho City.

The Royal Group proposed investing in a golf course project in Truong Xuan commune (formerly Thoi Lai district, Can Tho city) and Tan Phuoc Hung commune (formerly Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province).

Leaders of Hoang Giang Vietnam Investment Group provided information about the project to leaders of Can Tho City.

Accordingly, the golf course project in Truong Xuan commune has a scale of 574 hectares, of which the golf course construction area is over 163 hectares, and the remaining area will be used by the investor to build a mixed-use urban area, commercial and service complex.

The Truong Xuan Golf Course project is located along the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway; within a 30km radius, the project connects to the Co Do central area, Can Tho International Airport, and the VSIP industrial park.

The Tan Phuoc Hung Golf Course project covers an area of 220 hectares, of which 120 hectares are for the golf course construction, and the remaining area will be used by the investor to build a complex of commercial and service facilities.

The proposed project location is situated near National Highway 1A, running from Can Tho, 8.3km from Nga Bay and approximately 38km from the center of Can Tho City.

Currently, the two proposed locations for golf course investment are consistent with the Can Tho City planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, as approved by the Prime Minister. Specifically, at the two proposed locations, the land is planned for the development of social infrastructure, cultural and sports facilities, golf courses, commercial and service land, and residential land...

According to the leaders of Hoang Gia Group, the project aims to create an ecological golf urban area with full high-end amenities and contribute to the sustainable development of the region. Therefore, in the Truong Xuan Golf Course project in Tan Phuoc Hung, in addition to the area for housing construction, technical infrastructure, service land, and transportation, the company has allocated more than 100 hectares for healthcare and education and more than 125 hectares for green spaces and water bodies…

Leaders of the Can Tho City People's Committee inspect the golf course invested by Hoang Gia Group in the former Long An province.

In the residential area, investors build high-rise buildings, shophouses, and villas; as well as public functional areas, including commercial and service areas, pedestrian streets, and green parks…

Mr. Tran Ngoc Nhat – Chairman of the Board of Members and General Director of Vietnam Royal Investment Group Joint Stock Company – stated that the investment project for a golf course complex combined with an ecological urban area and commercial services aims to create a modern resort, sports, and urban complex, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality in a green, sustainable, and internationally-standard manner.

According to the investor, once operational, the project will meet the needs of residents and tourists, creating a healthy, modern living environment that harmonizes nature and urban amenities; creating jobs, improving people's lives, and shaping a new urban landscape for the locality; while also contributing to increased revenue for the locality.

2(4).jpg — The leaders of the Can Tho City People's Committee are very interested in the project and hope that both sides will cooperate so that the project can be implemented in the city soon.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Truong Canh Tuyen, highly appreciated the project, especially since the city currently lacks a golf course. Meanwhile, according to the plan, the city will have four golf courses. Furthermore, Can Tho City is the center of the region and one of the national growth poles. Therefore, many large international corporations are investing here now and in the future, but the lack of integrated complexes, eco-urban areas, and golf courses means the city cannot meet the entertainment and sporting needs of these major investors.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City instructed relevant departments and agencies to coordinate with Hoang Gia Investment Group to continue researching and implementing the next steps, especially the Group's proposal to convert the land use purpose of rice paddies (within the proposed golf course project area) to meet the conditions for applying for investment approval according to regulations.
