On the morning of December 8, the People's Committee of Can Tho City held a conference to deploy personnel work. The conference handed over decisions of the Chairman of the City People's Committee on receiving, appointing, delegating authority, and transferring jobs to many key officials at the Department of Finance, Department of Foreign Affairs, City Inspectorate, Institute of Socio-Economics and Can Tho College of Economics and Technology.

Specifically, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City decided to appoint Mr. Le Thanh Tam - former Director of the Department of Finance of Can Tho City (old) to hold the position of Director of the Department of Finance of Can Tho City.
Previously, on February 20, according to the plan to reorganize departments of Can Tho City, Mr. Le Thanh Tam - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment was appointed to the position of Director of the Department of Finance.
On July 2, right after the merger of 3 localities: Can Tho City (old), Hau Giang Province and Soc Trang (old), the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Can Tho City decided to assign Mr. Duong Van Ngoanh - former Director of Soc Trang Department of Finance to hold the position of Deputy Director of Can Tho City Department of Finance (new), in charge of operating the Department until the position of Director of the Department of Finance is completed.
The conference on the morning of December 8 also announced the decision of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City on accepting and appointing Mr. Le Trong Nguyen - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Cu Lao Dung Commune - to hold the position of Chief Inspector of Can Tho City; Mr. Ly Hoang Phong - Head of the Immigration Management Department of Can Tho City Police, seconded police officer - to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Can Tho City (during the period of secondment); Mr. Huynh Trung Tru - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Cai Khe Ward - to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Institute of Socio-Economics of Can Tho City.

Can Tho leaders decided to transfer Mr. Vo Minh Canh - Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics and Society of Can Tho City - to the City Cooperative Union. At the same time, the authority of the Principal of Can Tho College of Economics and Technology was transferred to Mr. Le Hoang Thanh - Vice Principal of the School from December 1, 2025 until the position of Principal of the school is completed.
Representing the officials receiving the decision on this occasion, the new Director of the Department of Finance of Can Tho City, Le Thanh Tam, pledged to seriously comply with the direction of the City People's Committee; together with the collective leadership of the units, to deploy tasks quickly and promptly, better serve the requirements of innovation and contribute to the socio-economic development of the city.
He said that the appointed officials will promote their capacity and strengths to contribute to the common development, and at the same time become examples of dynamism and creativity, clearly demonstrating their roles and responsibilities in performing their duties.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - said that after the arrangement of provincial administrative units and the implementation of a two-level local government, the workload is very large and the development space is even wider. Therefore, the city's government apparatus needs to be increasingly innovative and strong enough to carry out its tasks.

Recently, based on the planning review, some units have not yet completed all positions, Can Tho City has decided to supplement some units that are currently lacking, to undertake the work.
Mr. Hoa requested that the units be reorganized and supplemented with new positions today, creating conditions for individuals to immediately approach the assigned work, promoting the spirit of solidarity and unity of the collective. At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested that the appointed individuals quickly hand over their old tasks, immediately take up their new tasks, and perform well the assigned tasks, helping the agency successfully achieve the set goals.
