A fishing boat sank while taking shelter from the storm at Cua Tung.

On the evening of October 9, Cua Tung Border Guard Station ( Quang Tri Province Border Guard) said it had not yet been able to salvage the fishing boat that sank while taking shelter from the storm at Cua Tung anchorage area (Cua Tung Town, Vinh Linh District).

Earlier, the same morning, Mr. Ngo Van Phong's fishing boat (48 years old, residing in Nha Mat Ward, Bac Lieu City, Bac Lieu) with a capacity of 150 CV sank while anchoring to avoid the storm at Cua Tung.

The initial cause was determined to be a hole in the bottom of the ship, water flooded into the hold and sank the ship.

Immediately after receiving the information, Cua Tung Border Guard Station coordinated with relevant agencies to mobilize 12 officers and soldiers to the scene to transport assets and fishing gear on the ship to shore.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Tuan Dung, Chief of Cua Tung Border Guard Station, said that tomorrow (October 10), if the weather conditions are favorable, the unit will coordinate with relevant agencies to carry out the salvage of the distressed fishing boat.
