In District 11, the rain was quite heavy and lasted for more than 30 minutes.

The forecast for the next 3 hours indicates that thunderstorms will continue to develop, bringing showers, with thunderstorms and lightning, to the aforementioned areas. Afterwards, the thunderstorms may spread to neighboring areas. Rainfall amounts will generally range from 13-15mm, with some areas exceeding 15mm. During thunderstorms, be wary of lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Explaining this unseasonal rain, Ms. Le Thi Xuan Lan, a meteorological and hydrological expert, said: "Unseasonal rain is not an uncommon phenomenon in Southern Vietnam. However, based on observations and observations at the Hang Xanh intersection (Binh Thanh District), the amount of rainfall was quite large, potentially reaching 20mm, lasting about 20 minutes, which is relatively unusual."

The cause of this rain is due to disturbances in the easterly wind zone pushing moisture from the sea inland, resulting in rain. This morning, rain also occurred in the border area with Cambodia in Binh Phuoc and Long An provinces. Will this rain affect the New Year's Eve fireworks display? Ms. Lan advised: "The rain has passed, and the clouds have dispersed, so it is unlikely to rain again between now and New Year's Eve.
