Last night (December 3), heavy rain caused many low-lying areas of Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, in the headwaters and along Cam Ly stream to be heavily flooded. Since dawn on December 4, water has flooded into residential areas, in some places it is more than 1 meter deep and flowing rapidly.

Many low-lying areas near rivers and streams in the communes of D'ran, Hiep Thanh, Ninh Gia, Nam Ban Lam Ha, Dinh Van Lam Ha... and the eastern communes of Lam Dong province such as Tuy Phong, Ham Kiem... were also affected by rising floodwaters, which inundated residential areas, inundated and damaged many areas of crops and people's property.
Prolonged heavy rains caused another landslide on the positive slope of Mimosa Pass in Da Lat. The landslide was located right on the temporary bypass road at the previous serious landslide site at Km226+500 to Km226+800. To ensure safety, during the night, the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province coordinated with relevant units to divert traffic and temporarily instruct vehicles to stop traveling up and down the first two sections of the pass.

That very night, the police of Lam Dong province coordinated with local authorities to mobilize all forces and vehicles to urgently evacuate many families and valuable assets to safety.
Gia Bac Pass, Highway 28, has also been hit by landslides in many places since the evening of December 3. This morning, authorities continued to close the pass to deal with the consequences. Similarly, D'ran Pass, Highway 20, in D'ran Commune, also suffered serious landslides. Vehicles are advised to choose other routes until further notice from authorities.

According to the Lam Dong Department of Construction, heavy rains also caused landslides at Sacom Tuyen Lam Pass. Prenn Da Lat Pass also had some landslides. Vehicles can still travel at limited speeds at these two passes. This morning, agencies and functional units will clear away the landslides and trees on the passes to allow vehicles to pass.
In particular, many hydropower plants such as Da Nhim, Dai Ninh... have announced to continuously increase the water discharge level through the spillway. Accordingly, Dai Ninh Hydropower Company announced that from 7:30 to 10:30 on December 4, every 30 minutes, the water discharge level through the spillway will be increased by 100m3/s. By 10:30 the same day, the water level released by this company reached 800m3/s. After that, depending on the water flow to Dai Ninh Lake, the hydropower operating unit will continue to increase or decrease the discharge level.

Previously, at the end of November 2025, Lam Dong province also experienced a flood with extremely serious consequences, causing dozens of houses to collapse, thousands of families to be affected, many areas of people's crops to be lost, and damage estimated at 1,200 billion VND.
In recent days, Lam Dong province has been making efforts to support people in flood-affected areas to overcome the consequences, typically the "Quang Trung Campaign", to build and repair houses for damaged families.
