The whole city has 796 vessels registered for aquatic product exploitation management, with a total capacity of 210,528 horsepower, of which 48 are fishing logistics service vessels; vessels with the longest length of 12 meters or more have had their registration renewed for 377/465 vessels, reaching 81.08% and 796/796 licenses for aquatic product exploitation have been issued according to regulations. By early October 2025, the whole city had 89,740 hectares of aquaculture, reaching 92.99% of the plan, up 5% over the same period last year; total aquaculture and exploitation output was 577,516 tons, reaching 74% of the plan, up 7% over the same period (aquaculture output 525,250 tons, exploitation 52,226 tons). Aquaculture farmers achieved high efficiency thanks to management, technical support for aquaculture, disease prevention and expansion of export markets from specialized units and functional branches of the city.
In the last months of 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to closely monitor the development of aquaculture in the area; strengthen the implementation of the residue monitoring program in farmed aquatic animals and animal products; appraise and grant certificates of qualified aquaculture facilities for food safety; build a safe aquatic food supply chain; support the development of seafood export markets; strengthen inspection, supervision and support farmers in applying measures to prevent and control aquatic diseases, ensuring food safety and hygiene.
