DNO - On October 21, the Department of Construction of Da Nang City issued a document requesting the Inland Waterways Port Authority to coordinate with port and inland waterway management and operation units to urgently deploy plans to prevent storms and floods and raise the span of Nguyen Van Troi Bridge to facilitate the relocation of boats to avoid storms.

Nguyen Van Troi Bridge's middle span was raised to allow boats to move away from the storm.

Accordingly, all tourist boats anchored at Han River Port and CT15 Inland Waterway Terminal must move to safe shelters before 3:00 p.m. on October 21.

The evacuation is to ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles in the context of the possibility of heavy rain due to the impact of storm No. 12.

Nguyen Van Troi Bridge is the only bridge on the Han River that can lift spans, equipped with 4 hydraulic jacks, each with a load capacity of 100 tons, lifting speed of 0.233m/minute, lifting stroke of 3.6m with a lifted span length of 36.45m.

The span control and monitoring system was upgraded in 2015, allowing for flexible span lifting, creating clear space for vessels to pass when necessary.

In addition to its technical function, the bridge is also exploited as an attractive tourist, sightseeing and check-in spot in Da Nang .
