Based on a shared commitment and goal of promoting gender equality, Nestlé Vietnam and the Vietnam Women's Union officially signed a cooperation agreement in December 2020 to implement the "Nestlé accompanies women" program. The program aims to promote gender equality, empower women through activities related to healthcare, nutrition, ensuring the safety of women and children, applying digitalization, supporting women's entrepreneurship, increasing income, and improving quality of life, contributing to the holistic development of women in the digital transformation era.
By the end of 2024, the program had equipped over 25,400 members with knowledge and skills, helped more than 2 million households access knowledge about nutrition and food safety, and helped establish and maintain thousands of sustainable livelihood models for women.
Sharing at the meeting, Ms. Tran Lan Phuong said: "The Vietnam Women's Union highly appreciates Nestlé Vietnam's companionship and cooperation with the Union's movements through the 'Nestlé accompanies women' program. The program provides women members with more knowledge and skills to access and apply digital technology , increase their income, improve the quality of their family life, and enhance their empowerment and confidence. The program supports women's comprehensive development in the digital transformation era, contributing to the achievement of the goals set by the 13th National Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union."
The program helps establish and maintain thousands of sustainable livelihood models, empowering women members to become more confident and assert their position within their families and communities.
In the future, the two sides will discuss in detail how to integrate this cooperation program into major government projects such as the women's entrepreneurship program, in order to reach and bring practical benefits to even more members.
Mr. Binu Jacob stated that Nestlé Vietnam appreciates the recognition from the Vietnam Women's Union and considers it an important motivation to continue implementing effective cooperation activities between the two sides, helping women members, especially women in rural areas, have opportunities to develop themselves, truly assert their position in the family as well as in the workplace, and be ready to adapt and thrive with Vietnam in the new era.
Based on the assessment and recognition of the positive contributions mentioned above, at the meeting, Ms. Tran Lan Phuong, on behalf of the Vietnam Women's Union, presented Mr. Binu Jacob, General Director of Nestlé Vietnam, with the commemorative medal "For the Development of Vietnamese Women".
