Southern electricity sector works through holidays on power grid projects

(Chinhphu.vn) - These days, while the whole country is joyfully celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, the streets are full of flags and flowers, everywhere is filled with a joyful atmosphere... then at many construction sites of 110 kV and medium voltage power grid projects of the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC), the working atmosphere is still tirelessly working every hour, every minute. Accompanying the construction force, EVNSPC leaders directly went to the construction sites, bringing encouragement and gratitude, visiting those who "put aside" this special holiday.

From Ca Mau, Vinh Long, Tay Ninh to Dong Nai, Dong Thap or Lam Dong... hundreds of workers, engineers of EVNSPC and contractors are still enthusiastically working on power grid projects. Aware that each project is a "command" on progress, associated with the goal of ensuring safe and reliable electricity supply, with increasingly high quality electricity to serve people's lives, contributing to promoting socio -economic development of localities, workers and engineers of EVNSPC have put aside the joy of family reunion, continuing to stick to the power lines and transformer stations with the highest effort to complete the projects on schedule.

Accompanying the construction force at the site, EVNSPC leaders also closely followed and directly went to the site during the holidays to visit, encourage, and give gifts to workers.

On the morning of August 30, the first day of the holiday, EVNSPC General Director Nguyen Phuoc Duc was present at the Ho Tram 110 kV Station, visiting and giving gifts to workers who were working in harsh weather conditions. On August 31, he continued to inspect the KfW medium and low voltage projects in Dong Nai province and the Tri An - Thanh Phu 110 kV transmission line phase division project and the branch of the high-tech 110 kV transformer station.

At the same time, EVNSPC Board of Members members Le Xuan Hai, Le Hoang Oanh, Bang Duc Hoai; Deputy General Directors Lam Xuan Tuan, Hua Thanh Nhan, Doan Duc Hung, Dao Hoa Binh, and Trade Union Chairman Le Xuan Thai also directly went to construction sites in many localities, such as Lam Dong, Ca Mau, Tay Ninh, An Giang, Dong Thap and Vinh Long... to check the progress, promptly remove difficulties for the project and acknowledge and encourage the efforts of the construction force during the holidays.

At the construction sites, EVNSPC leaders highly appreciated the efforts and determination of the staff, engineers, workers, laborers and contractors who have made efforts over the past time, contributing to bringing 77 projects to the finish line in 8 months of 2025. In particular, during this special National Day holiday, workers at the construction sites also put aside their personal lives and family reunions to join EVNSPC in determining to speed up the progress of the projects.

EVNSPC leaders presented gifts of gratitude and encouragement to workers at the construction site; at the same time, reminded workers to ensure occupational safety during work.

The presence of EVNSPC leaders at the construction site on the occasion of National Day is a testament to the spirit of solidarity, side by side, and timely care for the workers at the construction site. Simple gifts and sincere words of encouragement have given the workers more motivation during the days of working away from their families.

Mr. Ca Chi Dien, engineer in charge of the project "110 kV lines to the 220 kV transformer station of Gia Rai, Bac Lieu province", Southern Power Grid Project Management Board said: "On holidays, seeing people having fun and reuniting with their families, we also feel sad. But thinking about completing the project on schedule to bring electricity to serve the people, we remind each other to try a little harder, then encourage the construction unit to try harder together".

"Construction on the occasion of September 2nd means that we have to put aside the joy of reuniting with our families. However, the attention and close supervision from the Corporation's leaders during this holiday has given the contractors and workers more motivation to make more efforts," said Mr. Le Tan Dat, who specializes in managing the project "Phase division of 110 kV transmission line from 171 Minh Phong to 171 An Bien".

Mr. Nguyen Chi Tam, Commander of the project "Phase division of 110 kV transmission line from 171 Minh Phong - 171 An Bien" said: "Accompanying EVNSPC in many projects, we understand that the progress and quality of the project are always the top priorities. Therefore, we determine that this is the responsibility of the construction unit, to bring the project to the finish line on schedule, ensuring stable electricity for the people".

Not only this September 2nd holiday, but the spirit of working through holidays and Tet has been implemented by EVNSPC since the beginning of 2025, thereby clearly depicting the culture of responsibility and silent sacrifice of Southern electricity workers. That spirit is not only demonstrated through the workers directly performing the construction, but is also reinforced and spread by the care and companionship of the Corporation's leaders, with the highest goal of ensuring safe and reliable electricity, contributing to the economic development and daily life of people in the Southern region.
