With the same increase, coffee prices in Dak Lak province reached 104,000 VND/kg. In Lam Dong province, after an increase of 100 VND/kg, coffee was purchased by traders at 103,600 VND/kg.
According to experts, the recovery in coffee prices in August was due to several factors, including: an imbalance between supply and demand; a recent decrease in Brazilian coffee exports; and changes in international trade policy, particularly the imposition of high tariffs by the US on goods imported from Brazil.
Regarding pepper, prices continue to remain stable in the market and are unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, the average purchase price of pepper in key producing areas is 140,800 VND/kg.
Accordingly, in Gia Lai, Dong Nai provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, pepper is being purchased by traders at the same price of 140,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, in Lam Dong and Dak Lak provinces, the price of pepper continues to be the highest in the country, at 142,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices have remained stable and high due to limited supply, while demand from major markets such as China, the US and Europe is recovering. Some farmers are actively holding onto their stocks in anticipation of higher prices, further reducing the amount of pepper entering the market and creating further pressure on prices in the short term.
