Nghe An: Trees are falling everywhere, rising water is isolating some villages.

Recorded at 5am this morning, August 26, many areas in Nghe An province suffered heavy damage due to storm number 5.

The streets were in disarray after the storm.

In Vinh Loc ward, trees were fallen everywhere, many roofs were damaged and blown off. Roads were in disarray. The whole area had no power.

Mr. Duong Thang, a resident of Vinh Loc ward, said: “I have never seen such a strange and persistent storm. It lasted from about 5:30 pm until 11 pm before it stopped. Just hearing the howling wind was terrifying. When the wind stopped, I opened the door and used a flashlight to look outside, but trees were broken and scattered everywhere. I didn’t dare look.”

On the morning of August 26, in Tien Phong commune ( Nghe An province), there was heavy rain and rising water levels. Some villages such as Dan, Na Chang, Hanh Tien, Long Tien, etc. were deeply flooded and isolated. To ensure the safety of the people, the local authorities evacuated households in dangerous areas to safe places.
