Nghe An grants investment registration certificate for 1,200 billion VND industrial park project

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just organized the awarding of the Investment Registration Certificate for the WHA Industrial Zone 2 - Nghe An project to WHA Group Thailand.

The WHA Zone 2 Industrial Park has just been approved by the Prime Minister for investment in Decision No. 1706/QD-TTg dated December 31, 2024, with a total area of ​​183.37 hectares and a total investment of 50 million USD. The project is located in Nghi Hung commune, Nghi Dong commune, Nghi Loc district. The project has an investment capital of 1,200 billion VND, of which the investor's capital contribution is 216 billion VND.

The project's objective is to develop industrial park infrastructure to create clean land and synchronous infrastructure to attract secondary projects for investment, production and business activities.

Speaking at the ceremony to grant the investment registration certificate, Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul - General Director of WHA Group thanked the leaders of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and localities for supporting the investor to successfully develop WHA Industrial Zone 2 - Nghe An, and committed to continue to make efforts to speed up the project's progress in the coming time, contributing to attracting secondary investors to Nghe An province.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of WHA Group congratulated Nghe An province on continuing to maintain its position in the top 8 in attracting FDI in the country. He especially thanked the support of the provincial leaders for helping the group obtain the Investment Certificate for the WHA Zone 2 project in Nghe An with an area of ​​over 180 hectares.

The Group also committed to continue its efforts in the coming time to attract more secondary investors to Nghe An province, contributing to attracting more and more FDI capital to the province.

Nghe An province will soon implement the handover of land as well as investment in infrastructure outside the fence to meet the requirements of investors. At the same time, it is believed that the cooperative relationship between WHA Group and Nghe An province will not stop at the WHA Zone 2 project but in the following projects. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh said that currently, Nghe An's traffic infrastructure connection has met the requirements of investors.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also said that in 2024, Nghe An province has achieved many results. The growth rate of gross domestic product (GRDP) reached about 9.01%; budget revenue reached 25,400 billion VND. Attracting FDI capital achieved very positive results, with total registered and adjusted capital reaching nearly 1.75 billion USD, ranking 8th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. Total export turnover reached 3.7 billion USD, of which the export turnover of goods is estimated at over 3.2 billion USD... That proves the economic restructuring of Nghe An in particular and of Vietnam in general from agriculture to industry. To achieve these results, there are extremely important contributions from businesses and investors, including WHA Group.

Previously, in Nghe An, WHA Group achieved success when investing in the implementation of WHA Industrial Zone 1. WHA Industrial Zone 1 Nghe An project is one of the key projects of Nghe An province with a planned area of ​​498 hectares, total project investment of 2,056.5 billion VND.

By the end of 2024, WHA Zone 1 Industrial Park has attracted 37 secondary projects, including 32 FDI projects with a total capital of 1.26 billion USD/5.868 billion USD of the whole province (accounting for nearly 21.5% of the total FDI capital of the whole province). By attracting many large-scale projects, projects have been and are being implemented, completed procedures, some projects have come into operation, contributing significantly to the budget revenue, creating job opportunities for about 100,000 - 120,000 workers, promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.
