In the Duong Ray neighborhood, there are many families from all over who come to the city to make a living, study and work. Mr. Hung (Phuong Binh) and his wife, Mrs. Tu (Phuong Dung), are the owners of the boarding house. Mr. Hung is also a railway guard who also does electrical and plumbing repairs and other odd jobs in the neighborhood.

In the boarding house, there is also the gentle family of Mr. Lau (Mai Dung). Mr. Lau sells bread on the street and raises his daughter Nhung (Kim Nha) to study alone. Nhung feels sorry for her father's hardship so she still follows Mr. Lau's wishes to study banking but she still has her own passions. This makes the life of the father and daughter tense because Mr. Lau is very strict in raising his daughter. Meanwhile, Mrs. Cai's family (Phi Phung) is also single and struggling. Mrs. Cai sells groceries to raise her daughter Ngoc (Le Loc) who is foolish because of illness, always making her mother worry about every little thing.

Mrs. Cai (Phi Phung, left) and Mrs. Tu (Phuong Dung) in the movie.

Life in the Duong Ray neighborhood is always bustling, especially when Mrs. Tu likes to meddle in other people's business, always wants to step in to solve everything but often makes the story more complicated. In addition, Bay Boi (Trinh Minh Dung), Nam Hu Tieu (Phuc Zelo), Long (Phuoc Loc), Teo (Ba Nam), Hai Nhai (Lam Thang), Thuy (Trang Tuyen)... because of their love of hanging around, they cause "misleading" and "half-laughing, half-crying" stories in the neighborhood.

Each episode of “Lê không phải trao trao” is 25-30 minutes long, reflecting the rhythm of life of the people of Đường Ray hamlet. They are people from all over the place who gather in the city with different goals. Each person has a different identity, a story of life, happy and sad, ups and downs; but they all have the same desire to find a new, better and happier life. Strangers have had disputes, quarrels, and misunderstandings, but when facing difficulties and misfortunes, they still help each other. The tragic past story of Mrs. Cái, her relationship with Đường Ray hamlet and the growth of Ngọc “khờ” in the small hamlet moved many viewers. Or the journey to resolve the father-daughter relationship between Mr. Lâu and Nhung also left many emotions.

In "Never miss a train" there are many funny situations but behind them are lessons and beautiful messages about life philosophy, loyalty, and the loving bond between people who are not related by blood but always protect each other to overcome difficulties.

“Lê không phải thay đổi mới” brings together a familiar cast of actors from the drama and comedy stages: Phuong Binh, Phuong Dung, Phi Phung, Mai Dung, Le Loc… so it creates a natural, light-hearted entertainment atmosphere.
