Meaningful works in border areas
Recently, in Tay Giang commune, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tay Giang Commune Boarding School, Primary and Secondary School Project.

The project has a total estimated cost of more than 260 billion VND, including the following items: classrooms, departments, principal, student dormitories, teacher dormitories, kitchen, multi-purpose hall, library... The project will be completed and handed over in August 2026 to be put into service for the 2026-2027 school year.
Mr. Bhling Mia - Party Secretary, Chairman of Tay Giang Commune People's Council said that Tay Giang commune was established on the basis of arranging administrative units from 4 communes of the old Tay Giang district with an area of 400.45 km2, 23 villages, 2,329 households, 9,063 people. Tay Giang commune's education network has 9 schools with 3 levels of preschool, primary and secondary school; 30 separate schools in villages and inter-villages, more than 2,500 students and 263 cadres, teachers and staff.
“Despite many remarkable results in education in recent times, the commune’s school facilities still face many difficulties. The whole commune currently maintains 30 small, scattered schools in the villages, most of which are temporary and have mixed classes of many levels. The shortage of classrooms, boarding and semi-boarding areas for students in remote areas still occurs. In addition, the teaching staff is still lacking, many teachers are part-time, working in difficult travel and living conditions, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
People's lives are still difficult, the poverty rate is high, agricultural and forestry production is small, so taking care of children's education is limited. The groundbreaking of Tay Giang Primary and Secondary Boarding School is an important turning point, opening up better learning opportunities for children in the highlands, and at the same time is a vivid demonstration of the deep concern of the Party, State, Government and authorities at all levels for the cause of educating people", Mr. Bhling Mia shared.
The investment in building boarding and semi-boarding schools here not only meets the learning needs of nearly 2,000 ethnic minority children but also ensures the long-term needs of primary and secondary education in the Tay Giang border commune. This is a joy and a new opportunity for teachers and students in the Tay Giang highland commune. Not only that, the investment in building boarding and semi-boarding schools in Tay Giang commune has a particularly important meaning, contributing to the implementation of ethnic policies, improving people's knowledge, developing local human resources, creating better learning conditions for children in border areas, thereby strengthening national defense, security and promoting socio-economic development in the mountainous areas of Da Nang.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony, Ho Anh Kiet, a student from Tay Giang commune and his friends were very happy and excited. They hope the school will be completed soon so that they can have a better place to study.
Sharing the joy, A Lang Mai shared: "With a new school, we will have more complete and spacious facilities so we can study with peace of mind. I promise to try my best to study well so as not to let down my teachers and leaders."

Investing in education, cultivating the strength of the border areas
Mr. Pham Duc An - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that the policy of building schools for border communes according to the conclusion of the Politburo is a major decision, with profound political, social and humanistic significance; demonstrating the special attention of the Party and State to ethnic minorities in remote and isolated areas, especially students in the "fence" areas of the Fatherland. Thereby, contributing to training and fostering local human resources, preserving and promoting the unique cultural identity of ethnic minorities.

This is an important political task in 2025-2026 assigned to 22 provinces and cities with land borders, including Da Nang City with 6 schools for 6 border communes. Implementing the policy of the Politburo, the Government and central ministries and branches, the city has urgently surveyed, made a list of proposals, and submitted to the Government to invest in building 6 boarding schools with a total investment of about 1,500 billion VND. In 2025, Da Nang City will start construction on all 6 schools, striving to disburse 100% of the allocated capital of 482 billion VND. The Tay Giang Commune Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project is the first project to be implemented.
On October 22, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City chaired an online meeting with leaders of Dac Pring, La Êê, La Dêê, Hung Son, Tay Giang and A Vuong communes to review the progress of implementing Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes.
The projects are planned on an area of more than 5 hectares, with a scale of 30 - 38 classrooms, meeting the needs of about 1,000 - 1,300 students, ensuring adequate infrastructure for teaching and learning.
These are special projects of great significance in the development of education in border areas, contributing to strengthening national defense and security and improving the lives of ethnic minorities. Mr. Tran Anh Tuan requested units to proactively remove obstacles, ensure progress, quality and investment efficiency, and soon put the project into service for the new school year.
