For the past two days, images of a group of students from Tan Ky High School in Tan Ky district braving the rain to help many people safely cross a flooded road have been widely shared on social media. Notably, they rescued two people who had slipped and been swept away by the floodwaters.

Specifically, at over 11:00 AM on September 20th, a group of students including Nguyen Van The Anh, Hoang Van Kien, Pham Manh Khoi, and Tran Doan Anh Duc were passing through a section of road in Block 1, Tan Ky town that was deeply flooded with strong currents, posing a danger to passing vehicles.
Witnessing this, for two hours, four students braved the rain to help many people and vehicles pass through the flooded area.
Pham Manh Khoi recounted that at the time, seeing an adult riding a motorbike being swept away by the water and falling into a drain, the children all ran to help, bringing the person and the motorbike to safety.

This afternoon (September 22), in an interview with VietNamNet , Mr. Le Khac Thuc – Principal of Tan Ky High School (Nghe An) – said that the school acknowledges the actions of four students who helped others on a day of heavy rain and flooded roads.
Following this touching and commendable act, Tan Ky High School has released information and expressed pride in the students.
Teacher Le Khac Thuc added that the spontaneous actions of the four students are commendable, but could also lead to unpredictable dangers during a period of prolonged heavy rain and flooding.
"Initially, the school commended the admirable actions of the four students. Early next week, the school will hold a meeting to re-evaluate their actions and analyze them so that other students can understand and learn from this act of helping others," Mr. Thuc shared.
