On September 9th, in an interview with Thanh Nien newspaper, the leader of the People's Committee of Nghia Tan Ward (Gia Nghia City) stated that, after being persuaded, the person who had arbitrarily built a concrete road encroaching on the Dak R'tih stream, at the foot of the Gia Nghia bypass bridge (in the Nghia Tan Ward area), had voluntarily dismantled the road section.
The illegally constructed concrete road in Nghia Tan Ward (Gia Nghia City, Dak Nong Province) has been demolished.
Previously, on August 16th, the People's Committee of Gia Nghia City issued a document responding to Thanh Nien Newspaper regarding the article "The case of encroaching on the stream to 'create a view': Not restoring the original state, but encroaching further."
According to the document, after the article by Thanh Nien Newspaper was published (on August 9th), the People's Committee of Nghia Tan Ward sent forces to the area encroaching on the Dak R'tih stream (the section below the Gia Nghia bypass bridge) to conduct an inspection.
Upon inspection, the People's Committee of Nghia Tan Ward discovered and recorded the current situation of a 70-meter-long, 3-meter-wide concrete road adjacent to the bypass road leading to the fish pond. Authorities are currently compiling a file to prosecute Mr. H. for encroaching on the stream and using land for purposes other than those permitted.
Notably, in December 2022, Mr. H. was fined administratively by the People's Committee of Nghia Tan Ward for "destroying land"; the authorities requested him to restore the land to its original state. Mr. H. paid the fine but continued to construct a concrete road as mentioned above.
The concrete road was constructed illegally, as documented by a reporter from Thanh Nien Newspaper in August 2023.
Regarding solutions to address the issue, the People's Committee of Gia Nghia City stated that it will continue to strengthen its direction and supervision of local authorities and relevant agencies, requiring individuals who have committed violations to thoroughly rectify their actions.
In addition, the People's Committee of Gia Nghia City directed relevant units to inspect, review, and establish administrative violation records in the aforementioned areas. For cases of repeated and serious violations, the People's Committee of Gia Nghia City requested the People's Committees of wards and communes, and relevant departments and divisions to transfer the records to the police for investigation and handling according to regulations.
