Vietnam Talent 2025: Promoting AI and big data applications in digital transformation

On the afternoon of May 19, at the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, the exchange program to launch the 2025 Vietnam Talent Awards in the field of Digital Technology took place with the theme "AI Wave - Opportunities and Challenges."

The program was attended by leaders of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, technology experts, businesses, individuals operating in the field of Information Technology and a large number of university students in Hanoi .

Vietnam Talent 2025 promotes the application of AI and Big Data in national digital transformation

On December 22, 2024, General Secretary To Lam signed and issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

The resolution identifies mastering strategic technologies such as AI and big data as key factors for Vietnam to narrow the gap with developed countries, aiming to become the digital technology industry center of the region and the world by 2045.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Le Manh Hung - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education said that in line with the spirit of the Resolution, the 2025 Vietnam Talent Awards in the field of Digital Technology chose the theme "AI and Big Data - Breakthrough Technology" to encourage authors and groups of authors to develop products that effectively apply core technologies such as AI, big data, blockchain, cloud computing, IoT, quantum computing, etc.

"Products need to be highly practical, actively contributing to the development of digital government, digital economy, digital society, ensuring national security, data safety and supporting state management in many fields," said Mr. Le Manh Hung.

Mr. Le Manh Hung also said that since 2005, the Award has attracted over 7,500 authors and scientists to participate in the Award, including 260 overseas Vietnamese; over 3,500 products and scientific works entered the competition. The Award has honored over 210 information technology products and scientific works, of which over 50 products have reached the regional and world markets.

Also at the program, Mr. Nguyen Son Hai - Deputy General Director of VNPT-Media, VNPT Group also shared: Determining the pivotal role in developing national digital technology infrastructure and being the core force in implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo, VNPT not only focuses on researching, applying and developing strategic technologies but also pays attention and invests heavily in developing human resources, especially high-quality human resources.

Mr. Nguyen Son Hai also said that sponsoring and accompanying the Award is VNPT's contribution to promoting socio-economic development and enhancing national competitiveness.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 Vietnam Talent Awards in the field of Digital Technology includes two competing product systems: Promising digital technology product system and Successful digital technology product system.

In each Digital Technology product system, contestants will have the opportunity to receive 1 First prize worth 200 million VND, 1 Second prize worth 100 million VND and 1 Third prize worth 50 million VND along with other valuable prizes from sponsors.

Opportunities and challenges for young people in the face of the 'AI wave'

During the exchange program, speakers and guests shared with students about the AI ​​wave and the far-reaching impacts of this technology in Vietnam.

Participating in the discussion were Mr. Nguyen Long - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Information Technology, Chairman of the Award Jury; Mr. Le Anh Van - Director of VNPT GenerativeAI Platform - VNPT AI; Mr. Ngo Minh Hieu (Hieu PC) - Cybersecurity expert, Director of Anti-Fraud Project, owner of the 2023 Vietnam Talent Community Application Award.

The guests discussed and interacted with students about the role of artificial intelligence in the digital transformation revolution, sharing opportunities for young people to become "Vietnamese Talents", contributing to the journey of building the country in the digital age.

Speaker Nguyen Dang Son Lam - VNPT Information Technology Company presented the topic "Young people and opportunities and challenges before the AI ​​wave", focusing on analyzing the rapid changes in the labor market brought about by AI, as well as the skills and digital thinking that the young generation needs to equip themselves with to adapt and develop. He emphasized that besides new career opportunities, young people also face the pressure of continuous learning and ethical responsibility when using technology.

At the event, Mr. Le Anh Van - Director of VNPT GenerativeAI Platform - VNPT AI emphasized that there are still many human resource opportunities in the AI ​​industry and businesses are currently in high demand for recruitment. Speaker Ngo Minh Hieu (Hieu PC) - Cyber ​​security expert brought a practical perspective and warning through the presentation "Security solutions in the AI ​​era."

He shared about the increasing risks of fraud and sophisticated cyber attacks due to the support of AI, and proposed measures to protect personal data and raise information security awareness, especially in the school environment and social networks - where young people are most vulnerable./.
