On March 28, 2025, in Hanoi, Samsung Vietnam and the Vietnam Youth Success Organization (JA Vietnam) officially launched the "Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025" contest, aiming to provide students with the opportunity to apply STEMeducation knowledge related to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, to foster the ability to access technology and create solutions to solve local and social problems.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, Deputy Minister of Education and Training ; Mr. Tran Van Dat, Deputy Director of the Department of Students, Ministry of Education and Training.

On Samsung's side, there were Mr. Na Ki Hong, General Director of Samsung Vietnam; Mr. Kim Yong Sup, Deputy General Director in charge of External Affairs of Samsung Vietnam.

The event was also attended by Ms. Doan Bich Ngoc - Executive Director of JA Vietnam, along with representatives of departments, agencies and many teachers and students from secondary and high schools in Hanoi .

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 will attract about 160,000 students

Following the success of the previous years' competition, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 will be implemented over 8 months, from March 28, 2025 to October 31, 2025, and will be divided into two groups: Group A for middle school students, and Group B for high school students, with 3 rounds of competition.

Participating in this year's competition, students will apply STEM, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Design thinking knowledge to find and realize creative solutions to address existing social issues according to one of the following topics: Sustainable environmental development through technology; Combining Sports and Technology to change society (towards education and future development) and Applying technology to develop a sustainable society.

Students and instructors will have the opportunity to participate in online and in-person courses and useful training programs in three regions throughout the competition.

In particular, in the context of AI - the core technology of the 4.0 industrial revolution is developing rapidly and being widely applied, playing an important role in many social fields, this year, in addition to the training content on Design Thinking as every year, for the first time, the training programs within the framework of the competition also provide students with knowledge about AI, how to apply AI to solve problems, as well as use AI to develop their competition products. This is one of Samsung's efforts to equip the young generation of Vietnam with useful knowledge in the high-tech era, contributing to accompanying Vietnam in realizing its future goals.

In addition, with the desire to popularize STEM knowledge, within the framework of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 competition, Samsung also launched the Solve for Tomorrow on Tour activity - Spreading knowledge, inspiring creativity. This activity not only brings new STEM knowledge, but also inspires students to confidently explore and apply technology in practice. Through a series of interactive activities such as career orientation seminars, technology experiences and Robot creation across the 3 regions of North - Central - South, the program will help students better understand the role of STEM in life and future careers.

Solve for Tomorrow 2025 is expected to attract about 160,000 students to register for the online course and 2,400 entries from middle and high schools across the country.

The total prize value of this year's competition is nearly 6 billion VND, with many attractive prize categories. In addition, schools with first prize winning teams will be sponsored by Samsung to build a STEM Lab worth 60,000 USD.

Samsung actively implements Solve for Tomorrow with the desire to support Vietnam in developing technology.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi shared: “The Vietnamese Government has issued a very important resolution, which is Resolution 57 on Innovation and Creativity, taking science and technology as the key to entering a new era, a new stage, accelerating the development of the country and the nation. Whether Resolution 57 can be put into practice or not really depends a lot on the young generation. And at this time, our country is trying to reach out to enter a new era, that depends entirely on you, on the young generation of Vietnam and the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest is a very important contribution in that journey."

Mr. Na Ki Hong, General Director of Samsung Vietnam, spoke at the event.

Also at the event, Mr. Na Ki Hong said: “Samsung is actively implementing Solve for Tomorrow with the desire to support Vietnam in its journey to become a technologically developed country. In addition, Samsung is also carrying out many social responsibility activities to express gratitude for the affection and support of the Vietnamese people, especially the active support of the government. Samsung's social responsibility activities not only enhance Vietnam's basic competitiveness but also connect with training future leaders."

The Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition was initiated by Samsung Global in 2010 in the US. In Vietnam, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow was first held in 2019. Up to now, the competition has become an annual creative thinking playground for middle and high school students aged 12 to 18. By the end of 2024, the program had attracted more than 475,000 students and teachers to register, receiving nearly 7,500 entries.

With the vision of social responsibility “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People”, in addition to the Solve for Tomorrow program, Samsung Vietnam has been implementing many other projects for the young generation such as: Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) technology talent development project - creating opportunities for the young generation to cultivate knowledge about advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, Big Data, Basic programming; Building and operating the Samsung Hope School, creating space and opportunities for after-school learning for students in difficult circumstances; Supporting the Vietnamese national team to participate in the World Skills Competition...

The themes of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025 Competition focus on sustainable development. In particular, this is the first year that the theme of Combining Sports and Technology for Social Change (towards Education and Future Development) is included in the Competition's topic.

For the first time, the training programs within the framework of the competition provide students and instructors with additional knowledge about AI, how to apply AI tools and Design thinking in solving problems and developing creative ideas.

Within the framework of the competition, the Solve for Tomorrow on Tour activity - Spreading knowledge, inspiring creativity to spread STEM will be widely organized in all 3 regions of the North - Central - South.
