Many cultural and artistic activities take place on the occasion of Hung King's death anniversary 2024

The Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony and the 2024 Culture- Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land will take place from April 9-18 (ie March 1-10 of the lunar calendar) at the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site in Viet Tri city and districts, towns and cities in Phu Tho province.

The ceremonial part includes: the Commemoration Ceremony for National Ancestor Lac Long Quan and the offering of incense to Ancestress Au Co on April 14th (6th day of the 3rd lunar month); the Commemoration Ceremony for Hung Kings on April 18th (10th day of the 3rd lunar month); and the offering of incense to commemorate the Hung Kings by districts, towns, and cities in the province from April 9th to 18th (1st to 10th day of the 3rd lunar month).

Speaking to the press, Mr. Nguyen Dac Thuy, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province, said that this year, the festival activities are closely linked to tourism promotion and development, with the highlight being the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week featuring many unique cultural activities to attract tourists. This aims to widely introduce and promote the potential, strengths, and tourism resources of Phu Tho.

In addition, on this occasion, many other activities also took place such as displaying artifacts, heritage documents, books, newspapers, and photo documents at Phu Tho Provincial Library (Viet Tri city), Hung Vuong Museum (Hung Temple historical relic site);

Street music program "Viet Tri Livemusic" at Van Lang Park, Viet Tri city; Cultural camp and display of typical products; Mass art festival and Phu Tho folk songs; bronze drum beating, bamboo pole stabbing at the Public House in the Hung Temple historical relic site.

In addition, several other activities are organized to best serve tourists and people nationwide when they make pilgrimages to the ancestral land, such as performances of Xoan singing from ancient villages in An Thai, Thet communal house, Lai Len temple, and Hung Lo communal house (Viet Tri city); the Hung Vuong Cup volleyball tournament for strong teams; and a trade fair and exhibition of OCOP products.

Open rowing competition at Van Lang Park Lake, Viet Tri City; Banh Chung wrapping and cooking contest, Banh Giay pounding contest at Hung Temple historical relic site. Especially, the art program and high-altitude fireworks display at Van Lang Park Lake took place on the evening of April 17 (March 9th lunar month)...

The Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival aims to educate about the tradition of patriotism, to express profound gratitude to the Hung Kings and ancestors who contributed to building and defending the nation; to educate about the moral tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source" and the strength of national unity towards the origins, and to show gratitude for the merits of our ancestors.
