Over the years, thanks to the active response and support of agencies, units, businesses, philanthropists, expatriates, and the efforts of the entire political system, thousands of poor households, near-poor households, and families with difficult circumstances in Vu Quang district have had the opportunity to improve their lives.
In 2023, Vu Quang district mobilized more than 2,000 gift packages, with a total value of over 1 billion VND, to be distributed to poor households, near-poor households, and those in difficult circumstances.
Nevertheless, the entire district still has many disadvantaged households that need the collective support and assistance of the community. Vu Quang District has called upon all officials, Party members, civil servants, workers, and citizens, including those who have left their hometowns, to contribute through practical actions, both spiritually and materially, to help poor and disadvantaged households improve their lives.
Representatives from BIDV Ha Tinh presented symbolic gifts worth 160 million VND, representing 360 Tet (Lunar New Year) gift packages for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in Vu Quang district.
In the "Spring of Compassion - Tet for the Poor" program, Vu Quang district mobilized 950 million VND (equivalent to 1,920 gift packages) from organizations, businesses, and philanthropists to support the poor in celebrating a warm Tet holiday in 2024. Specifically, BIDV Ha Tinh contributed 320 gift packages worth 160 million VND; Victory Group contributed 100 packages worth 25 million VND; the Ha Tinh Business Association in the South contributed 50 packages worth 25 million VND; and Lee&Man Vietnam Paper Co., Ltd. contributed 400 packages worth 200 million VND.
The Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Group provided 150 grants worth 90 million VND; Xuan Thinh Investment, Production and Trading Company Limited (Ninh Binh) provided 600 grants worth 300 million VND; and the Provincial Fund for the Poor provided 300 grants worth 150 million VND.
The Secretary of the Vu Quang District Party Committee delivered a speech at the program.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vu Quang District Party Secretary Nguyen Thi Viet Ha expressed her deep gratitude for the compassionate and generous support from benefactors for the poor and disadvantaged in the district. This practical support has been and continues to be a valuable asset in helping the local Party committee and government effectively carry out social welfare work.
At the program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and the delegation presented Tet gifts to poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in Vu Quang district. They also expressed their hope that these families would strive to overcome difficulties and improve their lives; and work together with the district to achieve its goals and tasks, especially in the construction of new rural areas.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sends his best wishes for a peaceful and happy new year to all Party committees, government officials, and people in the commune. He also urges the people to continue to unite with the local authorities, strive for progress in production, and strictly abide by the Party's guidelines and policies, and the laws of the State.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Party Committee and the government of An Phu commune, as well as Vu Quang district, to continue to pay attention to and support the people in all aspects of life, especially policy beneficiary families, poor households, near-poor households, and families facing difficult circumstances in the area.

* Earlier, Chairman of the People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and the delegation visited and extended New Year greetings to Mr. Le Van Nhung (born in 1950, residing in Hamlet 8, Duc Bong Commune). Mr. Nhung is a former resistance fighter who was exposed to chemical toxins and is currently in poor health, having suffered a stroke and unable to walk.
Chairman of the People's Committee Vo Trong Hai cordially inquired about and encouraged the relatives of Mr. Le Van Nhung.
The delegation also visited and extended birthday wishes to Mrs. Le Thi Cam (born in 1934, residing in Hamlet 5, Duc Bong Commune). This year, Mrs. Cam turns 90 years old, is currently frail, and lives alone.
