By late afternoon on November 5, the Truong Sa Island Logistics and Technical Service Center (Flotilla 129, Navy) had arranged for 26 fishing boats with 536 fishermen in the Truong Sa and Sinh Ton islands to safely take shelter from storm No. 13.

Faced with the dangerous and unpredictable developments of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi storm), the 129th Naval Squadron has directed the Truong Sa Island Logistics and Technical Service Center to make good preparations and be ready to ensure the highest safety for fishermen to take shelter from the storm.

Arrange storm shelters to ensure safety for fishing boats and fishermen

Major Do Van Tuyen, Commander of Sinh Ton Island Logistics and Technical Service Center, said that the center has deployed forces and means to implement storm prevention plans. The unit also reinforced the embankment, arranged anchorage locations; reinforced mooring ropes to ensure safety for boats to take shelter from storms; at the same time, took advantage of space and arranged accommodation at the center, ensuring safe storm shelters for fishermen.

Fishermen are supported with instant noodles, vegetables, and soft drinks.
