The account Majin Bu recently posted a tweet on X providing an image of what is believed to be a phone case for the iPhone SE 4.
As previously rumored and predicted, the iPhone SE 4 will have a major design overhaul, instead of using the design language of the iPhone SE 3, which is similar to the iPhone 8.
The notch may appear on the iPhone SE 4.
Accordingly, the leaked images of phone cases suggest that the iPhone SE 4 may borrow design elements from the iPhone 14, featuring a 6.1-inch OLED display instead of the 4.7-inch LCD screen found on the iPhone SE 3.
The notch containing Face ID also makes its first appearance on Apple's cheapest iPhone model, meaning the physical Home button will be removed. Previous information suggested that the SE 4 might use a 6.1-inch screen supplied by BOE.
A single rear camera on the iPhone SE 4 has been revealed.
On the back, leaked images show a single camera sensor accompanied by an LED flash. It appears the camera lens will be larger; however, there will be no additional ultrawide or other lenses to position the product in the budget segment. The 48MP camera lens would be a significant upgrade from the previous 12MP camera on the predecessor iPhone SE.
On the side of the device, the mute button is located above the volume buttons. The Action button replaces the vibration switch on the side of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, allowing users to quickly access and activate functions by pressing and holding the button without unlocking the screen. This button will respond with vibrations to indicate whether the function has been turned on or off.
Will the fourth-generation budget iPhone also feature an Action button?
If Action is indeed absent from the iPhone SE 4, this would certainly be a disappointment for Apple's next-generation budget iPhone model, as rumors suggest all upcoming iPhone 16 models will feature this functionality.
Meanwhile, alleged 3D models of the iPhone 16 series are also circulating online. According to multiple sources, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to have larger screen sizes this year, while the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be the same size as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
The iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to have a 6.3-inch screen, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch screen. In contrast, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have screens of 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively.
Apple plans to replace the toggle switch on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus with an Action button, which was previously exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro models. However, images suggest the new Action button will be larger than the one on the current iPhone Pro models.
Notably, the redesigned rear camera, a long-rumored feature now confirmed by recently leaked 3D renderings of the iPhone 16, has been revealed. The pill-shaped protrusion houses separate wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses on both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, no longer positioned diagonally across the square module as on the iPhone 15. The microphone is located between the two lenses, while the camera flash is on the back of the device, outside the camera module.
In addition to the details mentioned above, all four iPhone 16 models are expected to have a completely new button dedicated to taking photos and videos – the "Capture button" – located on the same side as the power button.
Rumors suggest the shutter button will be a mechanical rather than a capacitive one. According to The Information, it will react to pressure and touch, similar to the shutter button on professional cameras, with two stages: a light press to focus and more force to take the picture. The "Capture button" will have functions such as adjusting focus and zoom in addition to activating photo and video recording.
Will the Capture button be located next to the power button?
The iPhone 16 series is expected to be released this September. Notably, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature significant camera upgrades, support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Advance, and a graphene-based cooling system. The iPhone 16 series may also support AI generative technology, allowing users to interact with chatbots or create images using text directly on their phones.
