Efforts to contribute to the development of Quang Nam province

Continuously striving to fulfill its role of "Electricity leading the way" for the past 28 years, the electricity sector has invested thousands of billions of dong in thousands of projects throughout Quang Nam province; ensuring timely electricity supply to support the province's policy of shifting its economic structure from purely agricultural to industrial, commercial, and service-oriented development; bringing electricity to remote villages and border areas, contributing to the promotion of rural electrification.

In 1997, Quang Nam province had only 1,100km of medium-low voltage power lines, one 110 kV substation, and 588 intermediate and load substations. The entire province still had 6 districts, 103 communes, and 36% of households without electricity. By 2001, 100% of districts and towns had access to the national power grid.
Currently, the volume of the power grid managed by the company has increased 13 times in the number of 110 kV substations; and 70 times in the number of distribution substations, medium-voltage and low-voltage grids. Quang Nam province now has 100% of its communes/wards/towns and 99.3% of its households connected to the national power grid.

Over the past 28 years, the company has supplied more than 30.477 billion kWh of electricity to the province; of which, electricity for industry, commerce, and services accounts for more than 44%. Hundreds of businesses use from 1 million to over 100 million kWh per year.

Regarding customer service, in order to improve the business environment and enhance capacity and efficiency, the company is promoting the provision of electricity services through electronic means; rapidly developing the number of customers conducting online transactions and paying electricity bills without cash. At the same time, it is implementing a streamlined one-stop process for handling procedures related to electricity connection via the medium-voltage grid. In 2024, the average time for connecting low-voltage and medium-voltage electricity was only 1.9 days (compared to the planned 5 days).

When we submitted our application, we received enthusiastic support; the power was connected on time and even earlier than planned. And during the service period, the power supply was very stable.”

Throughout its development, the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee has consistently organized activities demonstrating the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source" and its responsibility to the community, contributing to the local government's implementation of the motto "no one is left behind." Specifically, these activities include caring for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, supporting the construction of charitable houses for policy beneficiaries and the poor; supporting disabled and disadvantaged children; implementing "lighting up rural roads" projects; donating blood; and assisting in disaster relief efforts.

Particularly over the past 23 years (2001-2024), from social assistance funds, funds for the poor, and voluntary contributions from employees, the company has consistently supported the socio-economic development of its sister commune, A Vuong, with nearly 100 million VND per year.

According to Mr. Luu Duc Loi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Quang Nam Power Company, with the tradition of overcoming difficulties and progressing in Vietnam's electricity industry and the spirit of "Mobilizing and effectively utilizing all resources for development," the company continues its efforts to ensure electricity supply to serve the socio-economic development, national defense, and security of the locality.
