On the evening of October 25th, images and videos of unusually green waves in Vung Tau (Ho Chi Minh City) appeared on social media, causing many people to wonder.
Accordingly, at around 5 PM on the same day, some tourists recorded images of the waves at Bai Sau beach in Vung Tau appearing green.
Upon investigation, it was found that the phenomenon of blue waves is not only occurring in the Bai Sau area but also in Phuoc Hai and several other locations.
The unusual blue color of the sea waves caused some tourists to worry, while others were curious about the phenomenon.
Explaining this, the leader of the Vung Tau Ward Cultural, Information, Sports and Tourism Center said that this is a normal phenomenon that occurs every year.
Specifically, according to this leader, the green waves are caused by the overgrowth of seaweed, creating a phenomenon of moss-green water or "algal bloom".
This phenomenon lasts for a few days, after which the seawater will return to normal.
The leader stated that the blue waves do not affect the health of beachgoers. Therefore, beachgoers do not need to worry too much.
According to observations on the afternoon of October 25th, there were quite a lot of tourists and locals still swimming and enjoying themselves at the beach as usual.
Coast guard personnel remain on duty to ensure the safety of tourists enjoying the beach and swimming. They also explain the discoloration of the seawater to tourists who may have questions.
