Petrovietnam continues to be among the top largest enterprises in Vietnam in 2024.

Vietnam Report Joint Stock Company has just announced the VNR500 ranking - Top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam in 2024. Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ) ranked second in the ranking. In addition, many other oil and gas enterprises are also among the top largest enterprises in Vietnam in 2024.

Petrovietnam holds the 2nd position in the Top 10 VNR500 in 2024.

By ranking 2nd in the VNR500 2024, Petrovietnam marks its 16th consecutive year in the Top 3 of the ranking. The VNR500 2024 also continues to feature high rankings for many other oil and gas companies: Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company - BSR (ranked 9th); Vietnam Oil Corporation - PVOIL (ranked 14th); Vietnam Gas Corporation - PV GAS (ranked 17th); Vietnam Exploration and Production Corporation - PVEP (ranked 37th); Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation - PV Power (ranked 56th); Vietnam Petroleum Technical Services Corporation - PTSC (ranked 75th); Vietnam Public Commercial Bank (ranked 77th); and Petrosetco General Services Corporation (ranked 100th).

Many oil and gas companies are among the largest businesses in Vietnam.

The VNR500 ranking has entered its 18th year, on its journey to find, recognize, and honor the well-deserved achievements of large-scale enterprises that maintain efficient and stable production and business operations. These enterprises have demonstrated resilience, overcoming unexpected fluctuations from the international context, and contributing to bringing the economy back onto a growth trajectory.

According to a survey by Vietnam Report, the percentage of businesses recording increases in revenue, profit, and order volume showed a significant improvement compared to the previous year's survey results. The change in business profits was not only due to increased revenue but also to reduced total costs. Furthermore, the percentage of businesses experiencing significant increases in revenue and profit reached 7.7% and 10.5% respectively, much higher than the less than 5% of the previous year.

The survey results from Vietnam Report also indicate the top 3 sectors with the greatest growth potential in the next 12 months, from the perspective of VNR500 companies. First is the Information Technology/Telecommunications sector, with 64.7% of businesses voting in favor. Second is the Transportation/Logistics sector, a crucial component of the supply chain and closely linked to production and business activities. The economic recovery will be a key condition for the growth of the Transportation/Logistics sector, with 41.2% of businesses voting in favor. Third is the Electricity/Energy sector, a vital sector providing the operational resources for the economy. With rapidly increasing energy demand, this sector is ranked as the third most promising for growth in the next 12 months.

2024 marks a significant milestone, a year in which businesses have persevered and adapted after a difficult period, achieving encouraging results and contributing to the economic recovery. Persistence and innovation in business operations have not only helped businesses complete their plans but also made a practical contribution to efforts to achieve the projected annual economic growth rate of 7% or higher. This provides a solid foundation, creating a premise for significant advancements in the final year of the 2021-2025 Five-Year Plan. The efforts of these businesses deserve recognition and honor, aiming to spread positive momentum and encourage the business community to continue contributing to the sustainable development of the national economy.
