Launching the 2nd photo contest "HCMC - New Colors"

On December 2, Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper launched the second photo contest “Ho Chi Minh City - New Colors”, aiming to capture the beauty of a larger, more diverse and profound city.

This year's competition judges

Accordingly, the contest consists of 3 main thematic groups: "Spring Colors" captures fresh moments, portraits of labor and optimistic beauty during the traditional Tet holiday; "Urban Spring" depicts the appearance of architecture, landscapes, and festivals spreading from the center to the suburbs; "City Love" seeks images of humanity, sharing, and solidarity in daily life.

Journalist Nguyen Thai Binh , Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee, said: "Today's expanded Ho Chi Minh City not only adds geographical space, but also expands vision, culture, and harmony between urban and rural areas; where every road, every residential area, every journey to make a living bears the mark of change."

This year's jury includes members: Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi (Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City), Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu (Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City), journalist Nguyen Thai Binh, photographers Ngo Tran Hai An, Doan Hoai Trung, Nguyen Tan Tuan and editor Huynh Truong Giang.

The work won first prize in the 1st "HCMC - New Colors" contest

The Organizing Committee will award 1 special prize of 50 million VND, 1 first prize of 30 million VND, 1 second prize of 15 million VND, 2 third prizes of 7 million VND/prize and 5 consolation prizes of 3 million VND/prize).

The secondary award system includes the most favorite award, the young photographer award and the inspirational work award (VND 3 million/award). The top 50 finalists receive VND 500,000/work.

The contest is open to Vietnamese citizens aged 15 and over, Vietnamese people living abroad and foreigners in Vietnam. Each author can submit up to 10 works (single photos or photo sets), JPG format, less than 5MB in size. Photos must be original, not using AI, not scanned/retaken, and created from the launch date to March 31, 2026.

Authors submit articles via the official website and share them on their personal Facebook with the required hashtag.

Submission deadline is March 31, 2026. The award ceremony and exhibition are scheduled for April 30, 2026.
