On March 24th in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Youth Union, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs , and IIG Vietnam Education Organization jointly organized the opening ceremony of the ACP World Championship 2024.
For seven seasons, the Central Committee of the Youth Union has aimed to create a beneficial intellectual playground for young union members to enhance their information technology skills, apply and innovate on digital platforms, thereby promoting their pioneering role in the national digital transformation.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the national qualifying rounds of the competition took place simultaneously in all three regions: Hanoi , Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. The rounds brought together nearly 250 outstanding contestants selected from 60 teams representing high schools, vocational schools, colleges, universities, and academies nationwide.
According to the organizers, this year saw nearly double the number of participating teams compared to last year. This demonstrates the appeal and widespread popularity of the 2024 World Graphic Design Championship among young graphic design enthusiasts nationwide. Of the participants, high school students accounted for 45%, college students 33%, and university students 22%.
According to the rules, the competition is divided into three categories: Category A for universities and academies, Category B for colleges and vocational schools, and Category C for high schools and middle schools.
After passing the national qualifiers, the top five contestants from each category will advance to the national finals to select three contestants who will be ACP Vietnam ambassadors to participate in the world finals taking place at the end of July in the United States.
Competing on the international stage, the three contestants will showcase their talents against hundreds of contestants from various countries and territories, vying for world gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively, with prizes of $8,000, $4,000, and $2,000.
In addition, national champions will be awarded the "Creative Youth" badge by the Central Committee of the Youth Union.
The World Graphic Design Championship is an annual competition held since 2013 to find top design professionals using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign software.
The competition is open to students aged 13-22 on a global scale and attracts hundreds of thousands of participants from nearly 70 countries and territories each year.
