On November 5th, leaders of the Phu Loc District People's Committee (Thua Thien Hue province) announced that local authorities, in coordination with the military, had urgently relocated dozens of households living at the foot of Phu Gia mountain pass after discovering a long crack on the mountain. The crack, approximately 50 meters long and 4 meters wide, poses a risk of landslides on Phu Gia mountain.

Twenty-three households with 88 people, along with their belongings, have been evacuated to a safe location. Authorities have put up warning signs to prevent people from entering the dangerous area.
According to local authorities, a few years ago, Phu Gia mountain had a crack about 200 meters long. This area has been identified by Thua Thien Hue province as a dangerous zone with a high risk of landslides whenever there is heavy rain and flooding.
The crack created a landslide point of about 20 meters on Phu Gia mountain.
From the evening of November 4th to the afternoon of November 5th, heavy to very heavy rain occurred in the district. The forecast indicates that heavy rain will continue in the coming days. Therefore, the soil in the hilly areas is saturated with water, posing a high risk of landslides.
To prevent dangerous situations from occurring, the People's Committee of Phu Loc district directed the communes of Loc Tien, Loc Tri, Loc Binh, and Loc Dien to urgently evacuate hundreds of households in areas at very high risk of landslides. By the afternoon of November 5th, the relocation of these households was completed.
