Approval of adjustment of resettlement planning for Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant Project

The resettlement area is located in Phuoc Dinh commune, planned since 2014. However, currently, the socio -economic conditions of the area have changed, the population structure and population have fluctuated. Therefore, planning adjustment is extremely necessary before implementing infrastructure investment.

Area planned to implement Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant Project.

In this adjustment, the resettlement area was expanded with a total area of about 65.62 hectares, an increase of 21.95 hectares compared to the old project. The expansion aims to readjust the area of residential land for resettlement, public works and functional areas to suit actual needs. The core objective of the adjustment is not only to solve the resettlement needs but also to create land funds to form new residential areas with quality life and sustainable development, in accordance with the direction of the Standing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.

According to the approved land use balance sheet, the total expected population of the resettlement area is 5,456 people, with 739 residential plots, including apartment land for workers. The land use structure has been adjusted to better meet the living needs according to the customs of coastal people and improve the effectiveness of natural disaster prevention and climate change. Of which, residential land accounts for the largest proportion at 28.7% (more than ^188,410m2 ), ensuring an average residential land target of ^34.5m2 /person. The planning provides many different types of land plot areas to suit diverse needs.

Land for parks, trees, and sports has an area of over ^73,561m2 (accounting for 11.2%), reaching the target of ^13.5m2 /person, much higher than the normal standard, to create a green, clean, beautiful and sustainable living environment for residents. Land for traffic and parking lots accounts for a large proportion (37.1%), ensuring synchronous, safe and airy technical infrastructure.

In addition, technical infrastructure indicators are also maintained and improved, including standards for water supply and drainage (120 liters/person/day and night) and standards for safe and stable electricity supply.

With the approval of this planning adjustment, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor) will be responsible for organizing the implementation of the Implementation Plan, announcing and disseminating the planning to the people and businesses. This is an important step, a legal basis for investment and construction, turning the resettlement area into a sustainable place to live and work for people affected by the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant project.
