On August 7, Mr. Chau Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee visited and surveyed the operation of Tan Phu Agricultural Service Cooperative (Phu Phung Commune) and Rang Dong Aquatic Cooperative (Thoi Thuan Commune). The visit aimed to grasp the current production and business situation and listen to the recommendations and difficulties of cooperatives after converting their models according to the Law on Cooperatives in 2023.

According to the report, Tan Phu Agricultural Service Cooperative has a consumption output of more than 1 million seedlings and ornamental flowers/year. The current difficulty is that the Cooperative does not have land to invest in, build warehouses and yards to serve the production and business activities of the Cooperative, the Cooperative must borrow and rent facilities from members to invest in equipment to serve the production and business activities.

Rang Dong Aquatic Cooperative stands out with a revenue exceeding 37 billion VND in the first 6 months of 2025, along with a well-organized system, more than 9,700 participating people and a farming area of ​​more than 1,500 hectares.

Representatives of the cooperatives all expressed their desire to receive legal support on land, infrastructure and special mechanisms for sustainable development. In particular, Rang Dong Aquatic Cooperative requested the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to find a way to remove difficulties and support the cooperative in solving the problem of starting construction of the road from the end of National Highway 57B to the old shrimp farm.

Through the survey, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Chau Van Hoa highly appreciated the results achieved by the cooperatives. In general, the cooperatives operate stably and effectively.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also directed departments and branches to quickly support Tan Phu Agricultural Service Cooperative to remove obstacles to operate more effectively.

Regarding the Rang Dong Fisheries Cooperative, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the development of a production and business plan that is transparent and clearly presented to the local authorities. After the merger, the commune has two cooperatives, Rang Dong and Dong Tam, each with different operating methods. Therefore, a unified management approach is needed, especially anticipating potential disagreements to find appropriate solutions. The cooperative needs to strengthen linkages with other cooperatives in the province, working together to achieve greater and more sustainable development.
