On the afternoon of September 8th, Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, along with leaders of several central ministries and agencies, inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 in Thai Binh province .

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and the government delegation inspected the damage to agricultural production in Thai Thuy district.

Accompanying the delegation from Thai Binh province were: Ngo Dong Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue; and Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue.

During the inspection, provincial leaders reported to the Deputy Prime Minister on the province's response to Typhoon No. 3. Immediately after Typhoon No. 3, Thai Binh province focused on directing and urging efforts to overcome the consequences caused by the storm.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh encouraged officials and employees of the electricity sector to overcome difficulties and quickly restore the power grid infrastructure after the storm.

Accordingly, there were no casualties in the province, but there was significant property damage. Several houses, factories, offices, and schools had their roofs blown off, and many trees were broken or uprooted. Many power grids and utility poles were damaged, causing widespread power outages. Regarding agricultural production, 6,000 hectares of rice crops suffered 30-70% damage, and 5,000 hectares suffered over 70% damage; 585 hectares of newly planted winter and unharvested summer/autumn vegetables were affected 30-70%, and 2,760 hectares of newly planted winter and unharvested summer/autumn vegetables were affected over 70%; 1,215 hectares of fruit trees were affected 30-70%, and 170 hectares of fruit trees were affected over 70%; the estimated area of ​​rice fields that were tilted, flattened, or flooded was approximately 18,000 hectares. Some sections of embankments, riverbanks, coastlines, and inland canals have experienced erosion.

Inspecting drainage efforts to protect rice crops and other crops in Kien Xuong and Thai Thuy districts, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged Thai Binh province's efforts in proactively responding to Typhoon No. 3; thereby contributing to minimizing damage caused by the typhoon, especially with no loss of life.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested that Thai Binh province continue to focus on directing the work of overcoming the consequences and responding to natural disasters after the storm; organize working groups to strengthen efforts in local areas to inspect, direct, and supervise the work of overcoming storm damage with the motto of speed, timeliness, and effectiveness. The agricultural sector and localities in the province should focus on drainage, protecting rice crops and other crops. The province should proactively coordinate with relevant ministries and sectors to receive support for storm damage from the central budget; at the same time, proactively allocate local budget to support people affected by the storm, ensuring that assistance reaches the correct recipients according to regulations.

Following this, the Deputy Prime Minister inspected the post-typhoon recovery efforts at Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park (Thai Thuy district). Thanks to proactive disaster prevention and control measures and the implementation of response measures to Typhoon No. 3 according to the "four on-the-spot" principle, Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park in particular, and other industrial parks and clusters in the province in general, did not suffer significant damage from the typhoon. Businesses are focusing on post-typhoon cleanup to resume normal operations from September 9th.

During a visit to encourage several businesses in the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Government and the local authorities of Thai Binh province always pay attention to and create the most favorable conditions for businesses to operate and conduct business. With timely guidance and support from the local authorities in responding to Typhoon No. 3, and strict adherence to provincial directives, the damage caused by the typhoon to businesses was minimized. He also expressed his hope that businesses would focus on overcoming the aftermath of the typhoon to quickly stabilize production and contribute effectively to the socio-economic development of the province.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh was impressed with the development orientation and determination of the investor in building the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park.

After listening to the report from the investor of Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park infrastructure on investment attraction and industrial park development, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his admiration for the investor's development orientation and determination to build Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park into a green, model, modern, and environmentally friendly industrial park. He affirmed that the Government is currently developing solutions to address difficulties and obstacles for businesses and investors when investing in Vietnam. The Government hopes to receive the cooperation of the investor of Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park infrastructure, thereby contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Thai Binh province in particular and the whole country in general.
