The Ukrainian army is in a state of "threat"; Russia is attacking on all fronts.

Assessing the current situation on the front lines, Maxim Zhorin, Deputy Commander of the 3rd Assault Brigade, Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), stated that the Ukrainian Army is at its most dangerous limit since Russia began its special military operation in 2022.

Ukrainian military commanders acknowledge that since 2022, the Russian Army has undergone significant changes and become more professional. Maxim Zhorin emphasized that the Russian armed forces are preparing for a large-scale offensive across all fronts.

“We have wasted a lot of time, delaying the general mobilization, and the enemy is preparing for a new phase of fighting. We don’t know the exact attack scenarios of the enemy in Kharkiv, Kherson, Donbass, or the entire front, nor some attack directions from the northern border, but it is certain that they are preparing for an offensive,” said Ukrainian army commander Maxim Zhorin.

Earlier, former Pentagon adviser Douglas McGregor predicted the possibility of Russian military action, suggesting that Kharkiv and Odessa would “change hands.” Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov declared that there would be “good and pleasant” changes after May 9, but did not specify what those changes were. He stated that the Russian army would take control of Odessa and Kharkiv this month, and force Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky to sign a surrender document.

Meanwhile, retired AFU general Sergei Krivonos told the Espreso television channel that the Russian army could launch an attack on Sumy and Kharkiv, forcing the AFU to withdraw to the north of the country.

On all fronts, the AFU is facing significant difficulties due to Russia's superior artillery and manpower.

"The attack on Kharkiv and Sumy may force us out of the eastern front. And they are doing this quite effectively," General Sergei Krivonos assessed.

Regarding the battlefield situation, on the Avdeevka front, Russian assault units began attacking the village of Novoprokovsky, which was located deep behind the front lines and where the AFU had not yet built a strong defensive system. To stop the Russian advance, the AFU organized a counterattack to hold them back and quickly build defensive positions in the settlements. However, the Russian troops' offensive continued. Behind Novoprokovsky lies Novoselovka Pervaya, the most important logistical center of the Ukrainian army on this front.

Currently, Russian second-line units are clearing the forest belt between Ocheretine and Arkhangelske and opening a path toward Novoaleksandrivka.

On the Kupiansk-Svatove direction, the Russian Army gained control of Kyslivka, combined with the capture of Kotliarivka, opening up the possibility of cutting off the R-07 highway and putting pressure on Tabaiivka and Stepova Novosilka.

In the Siversk direction, the AFU was pushed out of the northern Vesele stronghold.

Meanwhile, on the Bakhmut front, fighting continues in the vicinity of Chasov Yar. Russian troops are attempting to reach the Server Donetsk Canal and block all Ukrainian supply routes to settlements on the right bank of the canal.

In the direction of Vremyvka, fighting was reported in the southern suburbs of Urozhayne and west of Staromaiorske. The Russians are attempting to increase their control and prepare for subsequent offensives into the settlement center. West of Staramaiorsk, Russian troops have captured the fields adjacent to the city's outskirts to improve their tactical position for future military actions.

In Krasnohorivka, Russian units advanced right up to the hospital in the eastern part of the town and surrounded dozens of Ukrainian infantrymen in the area.

Meanwhile, according to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, several large explosions were recorded in the port city of Odessa. This was Russia's retaliatory strike following the suicide drone attack on the Belgorod region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that tactical air forces destroyed Western weapons depots in the Odessa region using precision weapons and missiles. An AFU fuel depot and a workshop producing rocket fuel and weapons for UAVs were also attacked.

The extent of related damage is still being assessed.
